In the heart of a golden autumn, the Startup Incubator was buzzing with activity.

  • Le foglie rosse danzavano fuori dalle finestre mentre dentro l'energia era palpabile.

Red leaves danced outside the windows while inside the energy was palpable.

A sign with the words "Dream Big" welcomed you at the entrance, as young entrepreneurial spirits filled the space with the sound of keyboards and murmurs of brainstorming.

  • Giuseppe era nervoso.

    Giuseppe was nervous.

He had worked tirelessly on his innovative app: "InstaCook", an app that promised to simplify the process of finding and cooking recipes.

But today there was something even scarier than cooking lasagna without a recipe: presenting his idea to investors.

Next to him, Livia, always bubbly and self-assured, was adjusting the last cable of the projector.

  • "Tranquillo, Giuseppe.

“Relax, Giuseppe. It’s not like we’re showing them a horror movie,” she said in her usual sarcastic tone.

  • Alessandro, appoggiato al tavolo vicino, sorrideva.

Alessandro, leaning against the nearby table, was smiling.

“Well, at least it's Halloween, a bit of fear is obligatory!” he commented laughing.

Giuseppe took a deep breath and started the presentation.

  • Le prime diapositive andarono lisce.

    The first slides went smoothly.

  • Il logo brillava sullo schermo.

The logo shone on the screen.

But then, like a bolt from the blue, an image of a dancing pumpkin man appeared!

  • Livia sussultò. "Ma che...?"

    Livia jolted. “What the...?”

  • Giuseppe si bloccò.

    Giuseppe froze.

The following slides were all about bizarre costumes and playful jokes, results of accidentally keeping the wrong slide deck for the incubator’s Halloween party.

Giuseppe's heart was doing somersaults as the audience began to laugh.

  • Con un sorriso esitante, decise di adattarsi.

With a hesitant smile, he decided to go with it.

“As you can see,” he said, trying to mask the panic with humor, “InstaCook is so versatile that it even lets you search for the most ‘monstrous’ recipes for your parties.”

  • Gli investitori ridevano sonoramente.

    The investors laughed heartily.

  • L’approccio sembrava funzionare.

    The approach seemed to work.

Alessandro chimed in, “Why don’t you continue by explaining how the app would also adapt the day after Halloween, when you’re trying to create something with the party leftovers?”

Giuseppe gratefully took the hint and continued, linking each bizarre image to an aspect of the app’s versatility.

  • Alla fine, gli investitori applaudirono.

In the end, the investors applauded.

“You were great,” said Alessandro, giving him a pat on the back.

  • Livia annuì, "Hai trasformato un disastro in un successo."

Livia nodded, “You turned a disaster into a success.”

  • Giuseppe uscì dalla presentazione sentendosi diverso.

Giuseppe left the presentation feeling different.

Maybe because he had realized that perfection wasn’t everything, and that a touch of humor could be the right key.

The investors approached him, captivated by his ability to improvise and, above all, amused by the unpredictable presentation.

Outside, the leaves continued their autumn dance.

A new awareness was sprouting in Giuseppe’s heart: what could possibly go wrong when you have the courage to laugh?
