Luca was in his office, surrounded by piles of documents and the monotonous noise of printers.

Outside the window, the trees along the avenue were preparing for autumn, turning yellow and red.

Every fallen leaf seemed like a piece of his life that he wished to change, towards something more colorful and creative: painting.

  • Era l'ora di pranzo.

    It was lunchtime.

Luca looked at the clock and decided to go buy office supplies.

He needed pens, notepads, and folders, but also acrylic paints and canvases that he secretly used in his free time.

He took a deep breath and, very cautiously, went to his boss.

"I'm going to meet a client for lunch," Luca lied, hoping his boss wouldn't suspect anything.

  • Nel corridoio incrociò Marco e Giulia, i suoi colleghi.

In the hallway, he ran into Marco and Giulia, his colleagues.

  • Giulia lo salutò con un sorriso.

Giulia greeted him with a smile.

  • "Pranzo con un cliente, eh?

    "Lunch with a client, huh?

  • Buona fortuna," disse senza malizia.

Good luck," she said without malice.

  • Luca annuì, un po' teso.

    Luca nodded, a bit tense.

He left the building and quickly headed to the supply store.

Once he arrived, he noticed that the inside was much more crowded than usual.

It was difficult to move between the shelves packed with people, all intent on finding what they needed for work.

He made his way through the crowd, gathering everything he needed.

As he paid at the register, his heart began to beat faster.

He needed to return to the office soon, if he didn't want his boss to start suspecting.

On the way out, fate played a trick on Luca.

He almost ran into his boss, who was entering the same store.

  • Luca sorrise, cercando di mantenere la calma.

Luca smiled, trying to stay calm.

  • "Buon pomeriggio!

    "Good afternoon!

I'm just here to pick up some things for the project," he said with a naturalness that he didn't feel.

The boss nodded, accepting the explanation without further questions.

Luca left the store, relieved but aware of how lucky he had been.

Back at the office, he placed the materials on his desk and sighed with relief.

He used the pens and notebooks for the documents due soon, but he carefully stored away the paints and canvases for his other life, the one he truly felt passionate about.

That evening, as the sun set and cast a golden glow in his room, Luca realized he needed to make a decision.

He couldn't continue living a double life.

He needed the courage to follow his dream of becoming a painter.

The next day, sitting in his gray cubicle with his mind full of the colors he longed to transfer to canvas, Luca realized that changes happen slowly, much like autumn.

But even leaves fall to make way for a new beginning.

  • E forse, presto, avrebbe trovato il suo.

And perhaps, soon, he would find his own.
