  • Az ősz halkan lebbent be a város utcáira, s levelei színes szőnyeget terítettek a járdára.

Autumn quietly slipped into the city's streets, its leaves spreading a colorful carpet on the sidewalk.

Levente, a young man dressed in a white shirt and jeans, sat nervously in the hospital waiting room.

  • Az orvos receptjére való várakozás megfeszítette türelmét.

Waiting for the doctor's prescription strained his patience.

  • Mellette Zsófia, akinek finom iróniájának köszönhetően mindent jobban viselt, egy mosollyal próbálta felvidítani barátját.

Next to him, Zsófia, whose gentle irony always made things easier to bear, tried to cheer up her friend with a smile.

  • A kórház tele volt emberekkel.

The hospital was full of people.

The noticeable smell of disinfectant mixed with quiet conversations and the occasional sound of coughing.

  • A kemény műanyag székek soraira támaszkodva, Levente minduntalan a falon lévő órára pillantott, mely talán hangosabban ketyegett, mint általában.

Leaning on the rows of hard plastic chairs, Levente kept glancing at the clock on the wall, which perhaps ticked louder than usual.

  • "Biztos vagy benne, hogy ez komoly?

"Are you sure this is serious?"

  • " kérdezte Zsófia, félig-meddig tréfálkozva.

    Zsófia asked, half-jokingly.

  • "Lehet, hogy csak a szokásos túlaggódásod.

"Maybe it's just your usual over-worrying."

  • "Levente idegesen megvakarta a homlokát.

    Levente nervously scratched his forehead.

  • "Zsófi, ez most más.

    "Zsófi, this is different now.

  • Érzem, hogy valami nincs rendben.

I feel that something isn't right."

  • "Zsófia hátradőlt a székében, kezét keresztbe öltötte a mellén.

Zsófia leaned back in her chair, her hands crossed over her chest.

"Remember when you thought you had a brain tumor because of your headache?"

  • ""Ez most nem ugyanaz.

    "This is not the same.

And besides, you said it's better to be safe than sorry."

The wait dragged on, and Levente's anxiety only grew.

Finally, a nurse called and led Levente to the examination room.

  • Zsófia buzdítólag megszorította a kezét, mielőtt elengedte volna.

Zsófia squeezed his hand encouragingly before letting go.

The doctor, a middle-aged man with a good sense of humor, smiled at him amiably.

  • "Nos, milyen panaszaid vannak?

    "So, what are your complaints?"

  • "Levente a lábára mutatott.

    Levente pointed to his foot.

  • "Furcsa büdös, és néha viszket.

"A strange odor, and sometimes it itches."

The doctor examined his feet and immediately smiled.

"I must tell you, young man, this is not a life-threatening illness.

  • A zoknid kissé az.

    Your sock is, though."

  • " A zokni sarkán átlukadt részt mutatta.

He pointed to a hole in the heel of the sock.

  • Láthatóan Levente régi darabot választott aznap reggel.

Evidently, Levente had chosen an old pair that morning.

  • Zsófia kuncogott az ajtó mögül.

Zsófia giggled from behind the door.

  • "Ez a misztikus betegség megfejtése?

"Is this the solution to the mysterious illness?"

Levente blushed, but a liberated laugh escaped his lips.

  • "Ezúttal tényleg túlzásba estem, mi?

"I really overdid it this time, didn't I?"

  • "Az orvos bólintott.

    The doctor nodded.

"Just make sure to wash your feet thoroughly and change your socks more frequently, alright?"

  • "Ahogy kiléptek a kórház ajtaján, Zsófia viccesen meglökte Levente vállát.

As they stepped out of the hospital, Zsófia playfully nudged Levente's shoulder.

"Now I know that even socks can bring new color to your everyday life."

Levente resolved not to jump to the worst conclusions next time.

While Zsófia appreciated her friend's care for himself more, even if it occasionally led to amusing situations.

The autumn sun was warmly shining on them as they walked back together, laughing freely among the city's colorful trees.
