ठंडी बूंदों की हल्की बौछार के बीच, अनन्या ने खिड़की से बाहर देखा।

In the light shower of cold drops, Ananya looked out the window.

बाहर अंधेरा सा था, जैसे आसमान ने भी अपना दुख छुपा रखा हो।

Outside, it was dark, as if the sky was hiding its sorrow.

अंदर, रसोई में उनकी माँ कविता त्योहारी मिठाइयाँ तैयार कर रही थीं।

Inside, in the kitchen, her mother Kavita was preparing festival sweets.

कमरे में एक अजीब सी चुप्पी छाई हुई थी।

A strange silence filled the room.

रक्षाबंधन का दिन था, और हर साल की तरह इस साल भी अनन्या ने अपने भाई रोहन को राखी बांधनी थी।

It was the day of Raksha Bandhan, and like every year, Ananya was supposed to tie a rakhi to her brother Rohan.

लेकिन इस वर्ष, उसके दिल में कई अनसुलझी बातें थीं जिन्हें वह अब और दबा नहीं सकती थी।

एक वक़्त था जब ऐसे मौके पर वह खुश हुआ करती थी, लेकिन अब सब बदल चुका था।

There was a time when such occasions made her happy, but now everything had changed.

उसने मन में फैसला किया कि आज वह रोहन से बात करेगी।

She decided in her mind that today she would talk to Rohan.

रसोई से आवाज आई, "अनन्या! रोहन आ गया है। राखी की थाली तैयार कर ले।"

A voice came from the kitchen, "Ananya! Rohan has arrived. Prepare the rakhi plate."

अनन्या ने गहरी सांस ली और थाली उठाकर बाहर लॉबी में आ गई, जहाँ रोहन बैठा था।

Ananya took a deep breath and picked up the plate, moving to the lobby where Rohan was sitting.

"भाई," अनन्या ने धीरे से कहा और राखी की थाली उसके सामने रख दी।

"Bhai," Ananya said softly and placed the rakhi plate in front of him.

किसी भी तरह का स्नेह, उस समय अनन्या के लिए मुश्किल था।

Any kind of affection was difficult for her at that moment.

"राखी बांधोगी या फिर और नाटक बाकी है?" रोहन ने ढिठाई से हंस कर कहा।

"Are you going to tie the rakhi or is there more drama left?" Rohan said with a defiant laugh.

कविता ने भी मुस्कुराते हुए बोला, "हां, जल्दी करो। तुम्हें तो हमेशा देर ही होती है।"

Kavita also smiled and said, "Yes, hurry up. You're always late."

अनन्या की आंखों में आँसू आ गए। पर उसने खुद को संभाला।

Tears welled up in Ananya's eyes, but she composed herself.

उसने राखी उठाई और रोहन की कलाई पर बांध दी।

She picked up the rakhi and tied it on Rohan's wrist.

फिर उसने उसकी ओर देखा और बोली, "भाई, मुझे तुमसे बात करनी है।"

Then she looked at him and said, "Bhai, I need to talk to you."

कमरे में सन्नाटा छा गया।

Silence filled the room.

माँ ने अनन्या की ओर देखा, "क्या बात करनी है? फिर से वही पुरानी बातें सुनूंगी?"

Her mother looked at Ananya, "What do you want to talk about? Will I have to listen to the same old things again?"

"नहीं माँ, मैं बस सच जानना चाहती हूँ।

"No, Maa, I just want to know the truth.

बचपन में जो हुआ, रोहन क्यों कभी मेरे साथ नहीं था?

During childhood, why was Rohan never there for me?

तुम हमेशा मुझे दोष देती रही, पर मैंने कभी खुद को नहीं समझा।"

You always blamed me, but I never understood myself."

रोहन ने गहरी सांस ली, "अनन्या, मैं नहीं जानता था कि तुम्हारे मन में ये सब था।

Rohan took a deep breath, "Ananya, I didn't know you felt all this.

पर मैं भी उस वक्त कन्फ्यूज्ड था।"

I was confused at that time too."

कविता चुपचाप सुन रही थी।

Kavita listened quietly.

अनन्या ने फिर से कहा, "माँ, हर बार हर छोटी बात पर मुझे कोसना बंद करिए।

Ananya spoke again, "Maa, stop blaming me for every little thing.

मैंने भी वो सब महसूस किया है जो आप सोचती हैं कि सिर्फ आप ही सहती हैं।"

I have felt everything you think only you have endured."

कमरे में बिजली सी कौंध गई।

There was a flash of lightning in the room.

बारिश अब तेज होने लगी थी, मानो बाहर का तूफान अंदर वाले तूफान से प्रतिस्पर्धा कर रहा हो।

The rain now fell more heavily, as if the storm outside was competing with the storm inside.

कविता ने गहरी सांस ली और हल्के से कहा, "शायद हम सब ही एक-दूसरे को नहीं समझ पाए।"

Kavita took a deep breath and gently said, "Perhaps we all failed to understand each other."

रोहन ने अनन्या का हाथ पकड़ा और कहा, "शायद अब समझने की बारी है।"

Rohan took Ananya's hand and said, "Maybe it's time to understand now."

अनन्या की आँखों में आँसू थे, लेकिन इस बार ये आँसू दर्द के नहीं, एक नई शुरुआत के थे।

Tears filled Ananya's eyes, but this time they were not of pain, but of a new beginning.

उस दिन एक पारिवारिक रिवाज के दौरान, परिवार के तीनों सदस्यों ने अपने सच्चे भाव साझा किए।
