Anaya nodded, but her mind was elsewhere.

कुछ तो था यहाँ जो उसे खींच रहा था।

उसने एक पल सोचा, और फिर फैसला किया।

She thought for a moment and then made a decision.

"मैं थोड़ी देर में आती हूं," उसने कहा।

"I'll be back in a little while," she said.

अनया भीड़ से दूर एक छोटी सी पगडंडी की तरफ चल पड़ी।

Anaya walked toward a small path away from the crowd.

पीठ के पीछे राहुल की हल्की नाराज़गी उसे सुनाई दी, पर उसने परवाह नहीं की।

She could hear Rahul's slight annoyance behind her, but she didn't care.

वह जानती थी कि उसे क्या चाहिए।

She knew what she needed.

यहां एक छोटी सी दुकान थी।

There was a small shop here.

दुकान में प्राचीन दिखने वाले छोटे ट्रिंकिट्स रखे थे।

The shop had small ancient-looking trinkets.

अनाय की नजर एक ख़ास सजावटी पत्थर पर पड़ी।

Anaya's eyes fell on a particular decorative stone.

यह पत्थर ऐसे लग रहा था जैसे समय की परतों में से गुज़रकर आया हो।

This stone looked as if it had traveled through layers of time.

उसकी आँखों में चमक आ गई।

Her eyes sparkled.

"आपको पसंद है?

"Do you like it?"

" दुकानदार ने पूछा।

the shopkeeper asked.

"हाँ, यह खास है," अनया ने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा।

"Yes, it is special," Anaya said with a smile.

उसने पत्थर ख़रीद लिया।

She bought the stone.

जब वह वापस लौटी, राहुल ने पत्थर को देखा।

When she returned, Rahul saw the stone.

"यह कौन सा पत्थर है?

"What kind of stone is this?"

" उसने पूछा।

he asked.

"यह इतिहास की एक कड़ी है," अनया ने कहा।

"This is a link to history," Anaya said.

उसने राहुल को पत्थर की कहानी सुनाई।

She told Rahul the story of the stone.

सुनते-सुनते राहुल की आँखों में भी रुचि जाग गई।

As he listened, interest sprouted in Rahul's eyes as well.

अनया अपने निर्णय से संतुष्ट थी।

Anaya was satisfied with her decision.

अब वह इतिहास को और भी गहराई से समझती थी।

Now she understood history even more deeply.

और राहुल?
