Warm-colored leaves blew through the hospital window, carrying with them the scent of autumn.

The place was full of life, with nurses and doctors rapidly moving from room to room.

It was also filled with colorful plants and lights for the Sukkot festival.

    Avraham was worried.

He had come to the hospital to visit his younger brother, David, who was recovering from surgery.

He wanted to ensure that David received all the proper care.

As he walked down the hallway, he heard the sounds of prayer from the temporary Sukkah set up near the entrance.

"Good morning," Avraham said when he reached the office of Noa, the hospital director.

    "I'm here to visit David."

Noa smiled, but she was very busy.

    "I'm sorry, Avraham.

    We have new rules.

Because of Sukkot, visits are limited to one hour only."

    Avraham sighed.

He understood the challenges, but his heart ached.

"Sukkot is an important holiday for our family.

It's a time meant for being together."

"David is celebrating inside his room," Noa stated.

    "But I understand.

    I can't change the rules."

    Avraham looked around.

The care was good, but the rules seemed too strict to him.

"It's very important to me to make the most of this time with David.

Can I bring him to the Sukkah at least once a day?"

    Noa hesitated.

"I know the rules are important for maintaining order, but I will try to be flexible."

As Avraham turned to leave David's room, David looked at him with hopeful eyes.

He wanted to spend more time with his brother.

Avraham felt the weight of family unity on his shoulders.

Bravely, Avraham went back to Noa's office.

"I ask you, please give us a little more time during my visits.

    Sukkot is a special time."

Noa leaned back in her chair.

"I understand what you're saying," she finally said.

"Let's say we can extend the visit to two hours.

    Is that okay?"

    Avraham took a deep breath.

    "Thank you very much, Noa.

This is very important to me and David."

During his next visit, Avraham stayed twice as long with David, and in their hearts, they knew they had created a small window of celebration amidst this challenging time.

Each side learned to listen and consider the other's perspective, ultimately realizing that the rules were there to balance, not to hinder love.
