I lár an Lúnasa, bhí an pobal i gceantar in aice le Baile Átha Cliath ag ullmhú don fhéile ceoil bliantúil.
In the middle of August, the community in an area near Baile Átha Cliath was preparing for the annual music festival.
Bhí Aisling, ceoltóir óg a bhain cónaithe sa phobal, ag tnúth go mór lena chéad uair ar an stáitse.
Aisling, a young musician residing in the community, was eagerly looking forward to her first time on stage.
Ba í an tráthnóna sin an deis a bhí aici áit a fháil i mbanna ceoil na háite.
That evening was her chance to secure a spot in the local band.
Bhí a cara dílis Niamh tar éis taisteal ón nGaillimh chun tacú léi.
Her loyal friend Niamh had traveled from Gaillimh to support her.
Bhí an t-atmaisféar sa phobal geal agus beoga le crannóga agus beáir bhreátha maisithe i lár an tsráidbhaile.
The atmosphere in the community was bright and lively with kiosks and beautifully decorated bars in the village center.
Tháinig Ceoltóirí agus aíonna ó Bhaile Átha Cliath le spraoi a bhaint amach sna céadta.
Musicians and guests from Baile Átha Cliath came to enjoy the festivities in large numbers.
Ach ní raibh gach duine chomh sásta sin.
But not everyone was so pleased.
Bhí Ciarán, atá ina cónaí sa phobal le blianta fada, ag mothú corraitheach mar gheall ar an bhféile.
Ciarán, who has lived in the community for many years, was feeling uneasy about the festival.
Cé gur mhol sé go hoscailte é, chaith sé go rúnda le bheith ag amharc ar shíocháin a phobail ag dul i gcontúirt.
Although he openly praised it, he secretly worried about the peace of his community being in jeopardy.
Bhí sé, áfach, ag iarraidh ról an duine chríonna a imirt.
However, he wanted to play the role of the wise one.
Chuala sé faoi stoirm mhór ag teacht agus chuir sé na daoine ar an eolas faoi.
He had heard about a big storm coming and informed the people about it.
Nuair a d’fhogair sé go raibh sé ag smaoineamh ar na geataí a dhruidim, baineadh geit as an bpobal.
When he announced that he was thinking of closing the gates, the community was taken aback.
Lig Aisling ní gá mar sin deis pas a fháil.
This would mean Aisling might miss her chance.
Thug sí aghaidh ar ghnáth-bhaill an phobail, á lorg cabhrach leo chun an féile a choinneáil beo.
She turned to the ordinary members of the community, seeking their help to keep the festival alive.
"Tá solas agus bród sa cheol," a dúirt sí.
"There is light and pride in the music," she said.
"Is féidir linn cur i gcoinne na stoirme!
"We can face the storm!"
"Tháinig Niamh le cabhair dílis.
Niamh came with her loyal help.
D'inis sí do go leor acu faoi thábhacht na féile dóibh, ní amháin mar cheoltóirí, ach mar chomharsana freisin.
She told many of them about the importance of the festival to them, not only as musicians but also as neighbors.
Cuir Cathal ina luí orthu agus chinn sé comhoibriú.
Cathal convinced them, and he decided to cooperate.
De réir mar a chuaigh na scamaill dhorcha i méid, ghlac an pobal le chéile.
As the dark clouds grew, the community came together.
D'úsáid siad canbhásanna agus seanbhrait chun foscadh a chruthú i lár an cheantair.
They used canvases and old sheets to create shelter in the middle of the area.
Nuair a bhí gach rud réidh, d’iompaigh Aisling a aghaidh i dtreo an stáitse agus sheinn sí a chroí amach.
When everything was ready, Aisling turned her face towards the stage and played her heart out.
Le linn a cuid ceoil, dhruid an stoirm níos gaire.
During her performance, the storm drew closer.
Ach le grá comharsana agus a cairde ag an taobh léi, bhí misneach ina croí.
But with the love of neighbors and her friends by her side, she had courage in her heart.
Shínigh Aisling amhrán a chloistear go forleathan ar fhleadh.
Aisling sang a song widely heard at a festival.
Bhí soilse glé mar gur tharla síocháin agus áthas a ghabháil ar an gclós ar fad.
The lights were bright as peace and joy embraced the entire yard.
Nuair a chuir sí deireadh lena taispeántas, bhí osna faoisimh agus gáire i measc an tslua.
When she finished her performance, there was a sigh of relief and laughter among the crowd.
Bhí an féile slán a bhuíochas le comhoibriú gach duine.
The festival was saved thanks to everyone's cooperation.
Bhí iontas ar Chiarán, ag tabhairt faoi deara gur spreag an t-aon aithne amháin pobal mór.
Ciarán, surprised, realized that one person's inspiration had sparked a big community.
Faoi dheireadh an lae, ní raibh sé ach ceo ag titim.
By the end of the day, only mist was falling.
Ghabh Ciarán leithscéal le hAisling agus thug sé gealltanas go mbeadh tacaíocht aige as seo amach.
Ciarán apologized to Aisling and promised his support from now on.
Smaoinigh sé faoi fheabhas an bhanna nuabhunaithe agus an grúpa áitiúil a bhí chomh bródúil sin.
He thought about the greatness of the newly formed band and the local group that was so proud.
Fágadh Aisling leis an eolas nach raibh sí ina haonar.
Aisling was left with the knowledge that she was not alone.
Bhí sí anois mar chuid dílis den phobal, le feasacht nach raibh éagsúlacht fónta ach inár mbanna ceoil, ach inár gcuideachtán freisin.
She was now an integral part of the community, aware that diversity lay not only in our music band but also in our company.
Agus le sin, chuir an phobal fáilte roimh dóchas agus grá geal na ceoil.
And with that, the community welcomed the bright hope and love of music.
Ní fhéadfadh deireadh a bheith níos oiriúnaí.
There couldn't have been a more appropriate ending.
Bhí an-pobal ann a bhuíochas do Aisling agus a lúb ard a chruthaigh ceol agus cairdeas nua sa phobal.
There was a great community, thanks to Aisling and her high spirit, creating new music and friendships in the community.
