  • I dtuaisceart Chontae Chill Mhantáin, i Glendalough, bhí an lá geal cáithréimeach.

In the north of County Wicklow, in Glendalough, the day was bright and triumphant.

  • Bhí an fhéile na Cásca ar siúl agus bhí na daoine sásta.

The Easter festival was underway and the people were happy.

  • Bhí an dúlra ag múscailt faoin ngrian, agus bhí bláthanna fiáine ag alán bláth.

Nature was awakening under the sun, and wildflowers were blooming abundantly.

  • Bhí Eoin, Siobhán, agus Niamh ag dul ar shiúlóid.

Eoin, Siobhán, and Niamh were going for a walk.

  • Bhí Eoin lán le fuinneamh, réidh chun a líonadh siar machaire na sléibhte.

Eoin was full of energy, ready to fill his spirit with the mountain plains.

  • "B'fhearr liom grianghraif iontacha a ghlacadh," a dúirt sé.

"I'd prefer to take amazing photographs," he said.

  • Thosaigh na triúr ag siúl ón gcarrchlós, ag tabhairt aghaidh ar na háilleachtaí atá le feiceáil os a gcomhair.

The three started walking from the car park, facing the beauties visible before them.

  • Bhí na lochanna uachtair mar sheoid den áit.

The upper lakes were like jewels of the place.

  • Ach ní fada a bhí siad ag dul nuair a thimpeall an chúinne, sleamhnaigh cos Eoin agus thit sé go hionadhach.

But they hadn't been walking long when, around the corner, Eoin's foot slipped, and he fell unexpectedly.

  • "Mmmm," a gháir Eoin agus é ag déanamh iarracht seasamh suas.

"Mmmm," cried Eoin as he tried to stand up.

  • Bhí sé sin gasta gur bhraith sé gur tharla rud mícheart.

It wasn't long before he realized something was wrong.

  • "Timpiste!

    "An accident!"

  • " arsa Siobhán, ag seasamh lena dheartháir.

said Siobhán, standing by her brother.

  • Bhí an chiall aici.

    She was right.

  • "Ní féidir linn dul in airde," ar sí go brónach.

"We can't go uphill," she said sadly.

  • Ach bhí mian Eoin chomh láidir sin gur b'éigean dó aisti siar a throid.

But Eoin's will was so strong that he had to fight back from giving up.

  • "Maith go leor.

    "Alright.

  • Ní thabharfaidh mé suas," ar Eoin.

I won't give up," said Eoin.

  • Ach bhí a dheirfiúr buartha fós.

But his sister was still worried.

  • D'iarr siad ar Niamh cad a cheap sí, agus mhaíomh Niamh go raibh cosán níos éasca acu fós.

They asked Niamh what she thought, and Niamh suggested they still had an easier path ahead.

  • Agus mar sin phleanáil siad ar aghaidh.

And so they planned to move forward.

  • "Is é seo an turas difriúil," arsa Niamh, agus í ag siúl cinnte amach ar fud na gcoillte craicne.

"This is a different journey," said Niamh, confidently walking out through the wooded trails.

  • Ar deireadh, shroich siad áit a raibh an talamh tochtmhar agus an radharcán ceann tuisce.

Finally, they reached a place where the ground was soft and the views were breathtaking.

  • Bhí siad ag iarraidh fanacht sábháilte.

    They wanted to stay safe.

  • Bhí Eoin tuirseach.

    Eoin was tired.

  • Bhí radharcanna iontacha thart timpeall orthu.

There were incredible sights all around them.

  • "B'áilleacht difriúil é seo," ar Eoin, agus an ceamara ina lámha.

"This is a different beauty," said Eoin, with the camera in his hands.

  • Thóg sé grianghraif a raibh sé aghaidh le bród.

He took photos that he was proud of.

  • "Ní raibh a fhios agam go raibh áilleacht mar seo ann," ar sé le aoibh mhór.

"I didn’t know such beauty existed," he said with a big smile.

  • Sa deireadh, d'fhoghlaim Eoin go mbíonn iontas ann i gcónaí.

In the end, Eoin learned that there's always wonder to be found.

  • Is é an turas féin an bronntanas mór.

The journey itself is the great gift.

  • Agus mar sin, d'fhág an triúr, lán le ríméad agus iad sásta.

And so, the three left, full of joy and contentment.

  • Bhí an lá Cásca fíor-iontach i Glendalough.

It was a truly wonderful Easter day in Glendalough.
