  • Bhí an aer i nDingle Oceanworld Aquarium lán le fuinneamh agus torann.

The air in Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium was full of energy and noise.

  • Leanaí ag gáire agus ag preabadh thart, idir sheomraí lán le huisce agus crúiscíní glasa.

Children laughing and bouncing around, between rooms filled with water and green tanks.

  • Niamh agus Darragh ag siúl thart, mar a bhí siad ar thóir rud éigin speisialta.

Niamh and Darragh were walking around, as they were in search of something special.

  • Bhí súil ag Niamh inspioráid a fháil dá scéal nua.

Niamh hoped to find inspiration for her new story.

  • Bhí Darragh ag fanacht ciúin, ag iarraidh pictiúr maith a fháil dá phunann – ach ba é críoch na bpinginíní a choinneáil ar shiúl uaidh.

Darragh was staying quiet, trying to get a good picture for his portfolio – but his main goal was to keep away from the penguin enclosure.

  • Go tobann, tháinig grúpa gasúir timpeall orthu, ag tabhairt ceisteanna gan stad.

Suddenly, a group of kids gathered around them, asking endless questions.

  • “An bhfuil tú ag obair anseo?” “Cad iad na hainmhithe is fearr leatsa?”

"Do you work here?" "What are your favorite animals?"

  • Niamh, ag smaoineamh ar conas nach raibh sí ag iarraidh díomá a chur ar na gasúir, d’fhill sí aoibh orthu agus d’fhreagair sí go muiníneach, “sórt sin, sea!”

Niamh, thinking about how she didn’t want to disappoint the kids, smiled back at them and answered confidently, "sort of, yes!"

  • Bhí Darragh nearbhíseach.

    Darragh was nervous.

  • Bhí an oiread sin bríde aige ar na bpinginíní, agus seo anois, bhíodh air iad a mhíniú.

He had so much interest in the penguins, and now he had to explain them.

  • Lean Niamh uirthi ag insint scéalta faoi na héisc áille, ag cumadh scéalta beaga anseo is ansiúd.

Niamh continued telling stories about the beautiful fish, making up little tales here and there.

  • Bhí na gasúir i gcónaí ag iarraidh níos mó a chloisteáil.

The kids kept wanting to hear more.

  • Ach ansin, d’iarr an múinteoir orthu labhairt faoin gcríoch na bpinginíní.

But then, the teacher asked them to talk about the penguin enclosure.

  • Phreab Darragh.

    Darragh jumped.

  • D'éirigh sé bán le heagla – an sciobfarhálach!

He turned white with fear – the penguin sector!

  • Tháinig branda solais i gceann Niamh.

A light bulb went off in Niamh's head.

  • Thosaigh sí ag sníomh scéalta faoin bpobal pinginíní: “Is breá leo sleamhnú ar an oighear, agus ag imirt le chéile.

She started spinning tales about the penguin community: "They love sliding on the ice and playing together.

  • Úsáidtear a gcuid cleití mar chóta te i rith an gheimhridh!”

Their feathers are used as a warm coat in the winter!"

  • Bhí na gasúir ag éisteacht go hiontach.

    The kids were listening intently.

  • Idir an dá linn, bhí Darragh cúramach chun fanacht siar, ach gheil sé an guth d’aon ghrà: “Sea, tá scéalta an Niamh fíor-iontach.”

Meanwhile, Darragh was careful to stay back, but he begrudgingly complimented, “Yes, Niamh's stories are truly wonderful.”

  • Fuair sé ceann pictiúr dá scrowlóga beaga ag titim i gclapac dí.

He captured a picture of the little birds falling in a heap.

  • Bhain sé sásamh as an bpictiúr deireanach a thóg sé gan stró mór.

He was satisfied with the last picture he took without much hassle.

  • Ar deireadh, d’fhág siad an crios pinginíní.

Finally, they left the penguin zone.

  • Bhí Niamh agus Darragh tar éis foghlaim as an eispéireas.

Niamh and Darragh had both learned something from the experience.

  • D’fhoghlaim Niamh nach raibh aon roinnt de cumadóireacht ró-bheag nó ró-mhór dá scéalta.

Niamh realized that no part of storytelling was too small or too big for her stories.

  • D’fhoghlaim Darragh, cé go raibh eagla air go fóill, gur féidir le pictiúr aoibhinn a thógáil gan ró-chosúil leis na haonáin bháite.

Darragh learned, though still afraid, that it’s possible to take lovely pictures without becoming too similar to the submerged creatures.

  • Tá ciall an saoil de Niamh níos beoga agus tá Darragh, pictiúrlann nua a tháinig amach as na scáthanna leigheas, níos saibhre den taithí.

Niamh's sense of life is more vibrant, and Darragh, a new gallery emerging from the shadows of recovery, is richer from the experience.
