Tanel astus ettevaatlikult Tallinna vanalinna pisikese kohviku ukse sisse.
Tanel stepped cautiously into the door of a small café in Tallinna Old Town.
Oli vaikne sügisene hommik.
It was a quiet autumn morning.
Lehed krudisesid värskelt pestud tänavatel.
Leaves crunched on the freshly washed streets.
The café was filled with soft light and the smell of coffee, which reached all the way out to the door.
Tanel, kaustik täis joonistusi käes, astus leti poole.
Tanel, with a notebook full of sketches in hand, walked toward the counter.
"Tere!
"Hello! I'm Tanel, starting my first day at work," before he could finish, Maarja, the café's long-term barista, greeted him despite the noise of the coffee grinder.
"Ah, tere Tanel," naeratas Maarja, "Oled õigel ajal. Täna saame hõivatud olema."
"Oh, hello Tanel," smiled Maarja, "You're right on time. We're going to be busy today."
Tanel felt both excitement and nervousness at once.
He tried to remember how to froth milk in the machine and change the coffee grounds.
But when the first order came—two cappuccinos and one black coffee with slices of cinnamon roll—his hands started trembling.
Right on the first day, coffee spilled, and the roll ended up on the wrong table.
Maarja pani tähele teda.
Maarja noticed him.
"Don't worry, Tanel," she said, "all beginnings are tough. But I see potential in you."
Tanel jõudis hingata.
Tanel managed to breathe.
"Mulle väga meeldib kunsti teha. Ma tahaksin õppida ja siin hästi hakkama saada."
"I really love making art. I want to learn and do well here."
Maarja noogutas.
Maarja nodded.
"One step at a time. But if you're willing, you'll succeed."
Samal ajal võttis Ilkka, püsiklient, oma harjumuspärase koha akna all.
Meanwhile, Ilkka, a regular customer, took his customary place by the window.
Kaameraga ümber kaela, märkis ta iga detaili üles.
With a camera around his neck, he noted every detail.
Kui kohvik äkitselt täitus rahvast ja tellimused laualt lauale võidusõitu tegid, astus Maarja Taneli juurde.
When the café suddenly filled up with people and orders raced from table to table, Maarja approached Tanel.
"Tanel, meil on uued päevapakkumised. Kas sa saaksid menüütahvlit värskendada?" palus ta.
"Tanel, we have new daily specials. Could you update the menu board?" she asked.
See oli Taneli hetk.
This was Tanel's moment.
He pulled out some colorful chalk and began to decorate the board.
His movements became calmer and more assured as he drew beautiful autumn leaves and letters between the coffee pots and pastries.
Varsti tõmbas uus menüütahvel klientide tähelepanu.
Soon, the new menu board caught the attention of the customers.
Ilkka haaras kaamera ja pildistas Taneli loodud kunsti.
Ilkka grabbed his camera and photographed the art Tanel had created.
"See on hea töö!” kiitis ta.
"This is good work!” he praised.
At the end of the day, when the café was ready to close and Maarja finished checking the cash register, she smiled and approached Tanel.
"Sa tegid täna väga hea töö. Jätka samas vaimus."
"You did a great job today. Keep up the good work."
Tanel naeratas laialt.
Tanel grinned broadly.
Tema esialgne ärevus oli kadunud.
His initial nervousness had vanished.
He realized that being open about his fears could bring valuable help and opportunities.
Samas püstitas endale uue eesmärgi: Teha kohvikust ilusaid kunstiteoseid paiga ja inspireerivate kohtumiste kaudu.
At the same time, he set a new goal for himself: To create beautiful artworks in the café through inspiring encounters.
Thus ended Tanel's first day at work, now much more confident and passionate about his future.
The café became his second home, where every drink and drawing told its story.
