Tallinna oli muutunud vaikseks ja metsikuks.
Tallinna had become quiet and wild.
Loodus hõivas vaikselt selle, mis inimestele kuulus.
Nature quietly reclaimed what once belonged to people.
Arvo liikus vaikselt läbi vanade tänavate, kastes jalge all krabisesid sügislehed.
Arvo moved quietly through the old streets, autumn leaves crunching underfoot.
Ta otsis varusid.
He was searching for supplies.
Ta lootis leida midagi väärtuslikku.
He hoped to find something valuable.
Ta vajab uut algust.
He needed a new beginning.
Viru Keskus oli nüüd vaid varemed.
Viru Keskus was now just ruins.
Kivimüürid, mille ümber väänlesid viinapuud, meenutasid, kuidas loodus võttis linna tagasi.
Stone walls entwined with vines reminded how nature was taking back the city.
Arvo's eyes shone with hope, but at the same time, he carried caution.
Nendes varemetes oli keegi veel.
Someone else was in those ruins.
Ta kuulis kergelt kellegi samme.
He could faintly hear someone's footsteps.
Need ei olnud raske mõrtsuka omad.
They weren’t those of a heavy-footed murderer.
"Kes sa oled?
"Who are you?"
" hõikas hääl.
called a voice.
See oli naise hääl, ettevaatlik, kuid uudishimulik.
It was a woman's voice, cautious yet curious.
"Arvo," vastas ta ettevaatlikult, end kergelt pöörates.
"Arvo," he replied cautiously, turning slightly.
"Ja sina?
"And you?"
""Liis.
"Liis.
Ma ei taha tüli.
I don't want any trouble."
"Neil kahel oli samasugune eesmärk: ellu jääda.
The two had the same goal: to survive.
Kogu maailm oli ohtlik koht.
The whole world was a dangerous place.
But their eyes met, and they understood that it might be easier together.
„Mis sa otsid?
"What are you looking for?"
“ küsis Liis, endiselt vajaliku valvsusega.
Liis asked, still with the necessary vigilance.
„Turvalist paika.
"A safe place.
Kohta, kus saaksin alustada uuesti,“ vastas Arvo.
Somewhere I can start anew," Arvo answered.
Liis mõtles hetkeks.
Liis thought for a moment.
„Kas sa usud, et see on siin?
"Do you believe it’s here?"
“Arvo tõdes, et vajab kedagi, keda usaldada.
Arvo realized he needed someone to trust.
Need olid ohtlikud ajad.
These were dangerous times.
Yet he feared having to share his scarce food and water.
But when he looked at Liis, he saw the same loneliness in her soul.
Äkki tungisid nad sisse suurem grupp ellujääjaid.
Suddenly, a larger group of survivors burst in.
Need olid vaenulikud, silmis ainult külm kiri.
They were hostile, with a cold glare in their eyes.
Arvo and Liis knew they had to act together.
Neil polnud valikut.
They had no choice.
Usaldus pidi tekkima hetkega.
Trust had to form in an instant.
„Siit!
"This way!"
“, hüüdis Liis, tõmmates Arvot rääkides.
Liis shouted, pulling Arvo as she spoke.
Nad jooksid koos kaduvasse raamatukogusse, põgenedes vaenulike silmade eest.
They ran together into the fading library, escaping the hostile eyes.
Shadows rose and fell around them as they closed the old wooden door.
"See oli napp," hingeldas Arvo, vaadates Liisi silmi.
"That was close," gasped Arvo, looking into Liis' eyes.
„Aga me tegime seda,“ vastas Liis, kergendus ja naeratus huulil.
"But we did it," Liis replied, relief and a smile on her lips.
Raamatukogu oli vaikne.
The library was quiet.
Isegi see oli enda läbi tuleviku ununenud.
Even it had forgotten itself through the future.
Books were scattered, but most were still in their places.
Selle koha sees tundsid nad rahu.
Within this place, they felt peace.
Nad jagasid õõnsat hetke, uurides ümbritsevat vaikust.
They shared a hollow moment, exploring the surrounding silence.
Arvo leidis tolmunud riiulilt vana raamatu ja istus lauale.
Arvo found an old book on a dusty shelf and sat at the table.
„Kas sa tead, et lood võivad meid päästa?
"Did you know that stories can save us?"
“ küsis ta.
he asked.
Liis naeratas, istudes tema kõrvale.
Liis smiled, sitting beside him.
"Jah.
"Yes.
Lood annavad meile lootust.
Stories give us hope."
"Koos hoidsid nad kõledas maailmas kinni mineviku muistenditest.
Together, they clung to the legends of the past in a bleak world.
Arvo teadis nüüd, et see oli võimalus.
Arvo knew now that this was an opportunity.
Alati uus algus.
Always a new beginning.
Koos said nad varjualusest teha kodu.
Together, they could make a home out of shelter.
Nad usuvad, et maailma saab uuesti üles ehitada.
They believed the world could be rebuilt.
Koos.
Together.
Raamatukogus oli uue alguse algus.
In the library was the beginning of a new start.
Arvo ei olnud enam oma hingelt üksik.
Arvo was no longer lonely in his soul.
Thinking of peace and trust, maybe even happiness that was to come, he held Liis' hand, and they closed their hearts in peace to the world.
