See oli kevade lõpp ja Jaanipäev lähenes.

It was late spring, and Jaanipäev was approaching.

Õhus oli kerge värske lõhn ja vanalinna sillutuskivid särasid päikese käes.

There was a light fresh scent in the air, and the cobblestones of the old city sparkled in the sunlight.

Kertu avas politseijaoskonna ukse.

Kertu opened the door to the police station.

Hoone oli modernne, kuid sobis hästi vanalinna ajaloolise arhitektuuriga.

The building was modern but fit well with the historical architecture of the old town.

Raimo järgnes talle aeglaselt, käed taskutes ja murelik pilk silmis.

Raimo followed her slowly, hands in his pockets and a worried look in his eyes.

"Noh, Raimo," ütles Kertu rahulikult.

"Well, Raimo," said Kertu calmly.

"Kus sa viimati oma rahakotti nägid?"

"Where did you last see your wallet?"

Raimo kratsis kukalt.

Raimo scratched his head.

"Võib-olla poes?

"Maybe in a store?

Või pagariäris?

Or the bakery?

Ma ei mäleta.

I don't remember.

Aga ma tean, et see oli meil enne, kui jalutasime Toompeale."

But I know we had it before we walked to Toompea."

Kertu ohkas.

Kertu sighed.

"Peame aru saama, kus me kõik käisime.

"We need to figure out where we went.

Ilma rahakotita on raske Jaanipäeva pidada.

It's hard to celebrate Jaanipäev without a wallet.

Sul on seal ID-kaardid ja rahad."

You have your ID cards and money in there."

Nad pöördusid leti poole, kus nende ees istus politseiametnik, tõsine kuid abivalmis naine.

They turned to the counter, where a serious yet helpful female police officer was sitting.

"Tere, mida te kaotasite?"

"Hello, what did you lose?"

küsis ametnik.

the officer asked.

"Raimo rahakott.

"Raimo's wallet.

See kadus täna hommikul kuskil vanalinnas," vastas Kertu.

It went missing this morning somewhere in the old town," replied Kertu.

"Annan teie andmed üles ja kui keegi toob midagi sisse, teavitame teid," ütles ametnik rahustavalt.

"I'll take your details, and if someone turns something in, we'll notify you," the officer said reassuringly.

Raimo noogutas, kuid Kertu oli endiselt rahutu.

Raimo nodded, but Kertu was still restless.

"Peame võib-olla ise otsima minema," sosistas ta Raimole.

"We might need to go look ourselves," she whispered to Raimo.

Nad lahkusid jaama ja hakkasid taas vanalinna tänavatel ringi rändama.

They left the station and started wandering the old town streets again.

Nad läksid mööda poode, kus olid käinud, ja küsisid igalt müüjalt.

They went past the stores where they had been and asked each vendor.

Mitmed tundsid rahakotist kaotuse vastu kaastunnet, kuid neil polnud sel teemal uudiseid.

Several expressed sympathy over the lost wallet, but there was no news about it.

Kertu süda kloppis ärevusest.

Kertu's heart was pounding with anxiety.

Ometi jäi Raimo kõrval rahulikuks ja naljatles, et vähemalt on neil ilus kevadilm jalutamiseks.

Yet, next to her, Raimo remained calm and joked that at least they had beautiful spring weather for walking.

Aja jooksul tõmbas Kertu sügavalt hinge ja hakkas tema kerges meeleolus kaasa minema.

Gradually, Kertu took a deep breath and began to join in his lighthearted mood.

Kertu telefon helises ja ta vastas kiiresti.

Kertu's phone rang, and she answered quickly.

See oli politseijaoskond.

It was the police station.

"Leidsime teie varem kaotatud rahakoti.

"We found your previously lost wallet.

Üks turist leidis selle ja tõi sisse," ütles sõbralik hääl.

A tourist found it and brought it in," said a friendly voice.

"See on suurepärane uudis!"

"That's great news!"

hüüatas Kertu.

exclaimed Kertu.

Raimo piidles teda siira rõõmuga.

Raimo gazed at her with sincere joy.

Nad suundusid politseijaoskonda ja võtsid kergendatult oma rahakoti.

They headed back to the police station and retrieved the wallet with relief.

Päeva lõpus istusid Kertu ja Raimo vanalinna pargi pingile.

At the end of the day, Kertu and Raimo sat on a bench in the old town park.

Raimo luges rahakotist ID-kaarti ja naeratas rahulolevalt.

Raimo read his ID card from the wallet and smiled contentedly.

"Ma pean olema edaspidi ettevaatlikum," ütles ta.

"I must be more careful in the future," he said.

"Aitäh, et sa mind aitasid."

"Thank you for helping me."

Kertu mõtles hetkeks.

Kertu thought for a moment.

"Ma pean õppima veidi lõdvemalt suhtuma," ütles ta peaaegu sosinal.

"I need to learn to be a bit more relaxed," she said almost in a whisper.

Nad vaatasid sinist kevadtaevast ja tundsid rõõmu, et nad saavad Jaanipäeva rõõmsalt tähistada, teineteise ja väikeste õppetundidega rikkamaks saanuna.

They looked at the blue spring sky and felt joyful that they could celebrate Jaanipäev happily, enriched by each other and small lessons learned.
