Kevad Lahemaa rahvuspargis oli täies hoos.
Spring in Lahemaa National Park was in full swing.
The leaves on the trees were green, and flowers were blooming everywhere.
The air was fresh, and around every corner, one could hear birds singing.
Kalev, Maarika, and Tiit had come here to hike, to enjoy nature, and to spend a pleasant day together.
Kalev oli väga põnevil.
Kalev was very excited.
He wanted to capture this special moment by taking a selfie with Maarika and Tiit.
Nad jõudsid soo lähedale ja Kalev otsustas vaate taustal pilti teha.
They reached a spot near the swamp, and Kalev decided to take the picture with the view in the background.
"Tulge lähemale, saame kõik peale," naeris Kalev.
"Come closer so we can all fit in," laughed Kalev.
Maarika seisis ettevaatlikult ja sosistas: "Ole ettevaatlik, maa on libe."
Maarika stood cautiously and whispered, "Be careful, the ground is slippery."
Tiit itsitas ja lisas: "Kui sisse kukud, oleme meie ju puhtad!"
Tiit chuckled and added, "If you fall in, at least we’ll stay clean!"
Kalev naeratas enesekindlalt ja astus ettepoole, telefoni käes.
Kalev smiled confidently and stepped forward with his phone in hand.
Ta libistas näppu päästikule, kuid korraga libastus.
He slid his finger to the shutter, but suddenly slipped.
In his awkward movement, his phone slid straight into the muddy swamp.
Hetkeks valitses vaikus.
For a moment, silence prevailed.
Maarika and Tiit looked at Kalev, who stood there with his mouth open.
"Ma ei saa seda lihtsalt kaotada," hüüatas Kalev, uurides mudast vett.
"I just can’t lose it," exclaimed Kalev, inspecting the muddy water.
"Kas sa oled kindel, et sul on seda telefoni vaja?"
"Are you sure you need that phone?"
asked Maarika, who was afraid that Kalev might get even muddier.
"Ei ole enam tehnilist abi," naljatas Tiit, silmad säramas.
"There's no technical assistance anymore," joked Tiit, eyes sparkling.
Kalev otsustas, et tal pole valikut.
Kalev decided he had no choice.
Ta hakkas tasapisi sohu kahlama, hoolikalt arvestades iga sammu.
He began wading into the swamp slowly, carefully considering each step.
Every time his foot sank deeper into the mud, he felt slightly more desperate.
He reached out toward the still slightly visible phone.
"Sul on see juba peaaegu käes, Kalev!"
"You almost have it, Kalev!"
ergutas Maarika ettevaatlikult servalt.
encouraged Maarika cautiously from the edge.
Tiit jätkas: "Kui sealt puhtalt välja tuled, oled sa tõeline kangelane."
Tiit continued, "If you come out clean from there, you'll be a real hero."
Lõpuks, viisil, mis pigem sarnanes kaheksajalaga võitlemisele, haaras Kalev telefoni käte vahele.
Finally, in a manner that resembled a struggle with an octopus, Kalev grabbed the phone with his hands.
See hetk, täis võidukust, leidis Kalevi juba naermas.
This moment, full of triumph, found Kalev already laughing.
The phone was wet, but he had accomplished his mission.
Koos solises Kalev mudast välja.
Together, Kalev splashed out of the mud.
Maarika felt relieved, but Tiit laughed even louder.
"See oli uskumatu," muigas Kalev, hoides telefoni nagu hinnalist aaret.
"That was unbelievable," grinned Kalev, holding the phone like a precious treasure.
"Ma sain selle kätte!"
"I got it back!"
Maarika raputas pead, naeratades.
Maarika shook her head, smiling.
"Võibolla oleks uued mäletused tähtsamad."
"Maybe new memories are more important."
Kalev vaatas sõpru ja naeris: "Jah, ilmselt.
Kalev looked at his friends and laughed: "Yeah, probably.
Parimad lood tulevad sõpradest, mitte telefonist."
The best stories come from friends, not a phone."
And so they continued their journey through Lahemaa, enjoying the spring without worrying about capturing everything in pictures.
Nature and friendship were the most important things for them that day.
