Katre seisis Estonian Rahva Muuseumi ees.
Katre stood in front of the Estonian Rahva Muuseum.
Kevad lõhnas õhus ja ümberringi õitsesid puud.
The scent of spring filled the air, and trees bloomed all around.
Ta tundis veidi ärevust.
She felt a bit anxious.
Pärast aastaid pidi ta siin kohtuma Arvoga.
After years, she was supposed to meet Arvo here.
Katre remembered him well, the time when they were good friends.
But years had passed, and Arvo had been away for a long time.
She wanted to gain clarity, to admit her feelings to herself, and perhaps also make peace with the past.
Katre sai kokku Mareti, nende ühise sõbraga.
Katre met with Maret, their mutual friend.
Maret, energiline ja alati rõõmsameelne, tervitas Katret soojalt.
Maret, energetic and always cheerful, greeted Katre warmly.
"Oi, kallis, oled valmis?"
"Oh, dear, are you ready?"
küsis ta.
she asked.
Katre noogutas, püüdes naeratada.
Katre nodded, trying to smile.
Muuseumi sees jahedas ja vaikses õhkkonnas sisenesid nad ajaloo osakonda.
Inside the museum's cool and quiet atmosphere, they entered the history department.
Seinad olid kaunistatud kaunite ja värviliste piltidega.
The walls were adorned with beautiful and colorful pictures.
Üks eksponaat, vana rahvariide vitriin, tõmbas Katre pilku.
One exhibit, an old folk costume display, caught Katre's eye.
She stopped and, holding her breath, looked at the ancient patterns.
Maret viipas eemalt.
Maret waved from afar.
"Tule vaata, Arvo on siin!"
"Come see, Arvo is here!"
ütles ta.
she said.
Katre süda hakkas kiiremini lööma.
Katre's heart began to beat faster.
She walked over to Maret, where Arvo, tall and blond, awaited her.
“Arvo,” ütles Katre häbelikult.
“Arvo,” said Katre shyly.
She didn't know how to start, the words didn't come immediately.
Arvo naeratas leebelt.
Arvo smiled gently.
“Katre, hea sind näha.” Nad leidsid end õige pea rahvapillide väljapaneku ees.
“Katre, it's good to see you.” Before long, they found themselves in front of an exhibition of traditional instruments.
Lõõtspillid ja kannelid kõnelesid ajalugu ja meloodiaid.
Accordions and kannels narrated history and melodies.
The silence between them softened as Arvo decided to speak.
“Mul on kahju, et nii kadunuks jäin,“ ütles Arvo.
“I'm sorry for becoming so lost,” said Arvo.
“Ma reisisin ja...“ Katre katkestas teda õrnalt.
“I traveled and...” Katre interrupted him gently.
“Peaasi, et nüüd kohtume,” ütles ta.
“The main thing is that we're meeting now,” she said.
"Kas sa tead, ma olen kaua mõelnud sellest."
"You know, I've thought about this for a long time."
Nad rääkisid edasi.
They continued talking.
Katre opened her heart, speaking about old feelings and hopes.
Kartus ja hirm asendusid rahunemisega.
Fear and anxiety were replaced by calm.
Arvo listened and finally spoke about his own feelings and doubts.
“Me võime uuesti alustada,” pakkus Arvo lõpuks.
“We can start over,” Arvo finally suggested.
Oli midagi väga rahustavat tema silmades.
There was something very calming in his eyes.
Katre tundis, kuidas koormus tema õlgadelt kadus.
Katre felt the weight lift from her shoulders.
“Jah, alustame uuesti,” ütles Katre, naeratades.
“Yes, let's start over,” said Katre, smiling.
Väljas säras päike ja õhk oli soe.
Outside, the sun shone, and the air was warm.
Katre ja Arvo kõndisid muuseumi uksest välja.
Katre and Arvo walked out of the museum door.
Ta tundis kergendust ja tänutunnet.
She felt relieved and grateful.
Minevik oli selja taga, uus algus ees.
The past was behind, a new beginning ahead.
Katre realized that vulnerability wasn't so scary after all, but rather an integral part of true connections.
Arvo saw a new balance between adventure and friendship.
Kevadpäev muuseumis muutus märkamatult veelgi helgemaks.
The spring day at the museum imperceptibly became even brighter.
