The spring sun shone through the school bus windows as the students sat quietly in their seats.
Kaarin vaatas aknast välja, lugedes puid, mis mööda libisesid.
Kaarin looked out the window, counting the trees that slid by.
Sisimas oli ta rahutu ja ärevil.
Inside, she was restless and anxious.
Tiina istus Kaarini kõrval, pilk kindlalt mobiiliekraanil.
Tiina sat next to Kaarin, her gaze fixed firmly on her phone screen.
Kaarin teadis Tiinat kui sõbralikku ja toredat klassikaaslast, kuid nad polnud kunagi vestelnud sügavamalt.
Kaarin knew Tiina as a friendly and nice classmate, but they had never had a deep conversation.
Täna oli teistsugune päev.
Today was a different day.
Koolireis viis nad psühhiaatriaosakonda.
The school trip took them to the psychiatry department.
Kaarin tundis, kuidas süda puperdas, kui nad lähenesid haiglale.
Kaarin felt her heart racing as they approached the hospital.
The white walls and bright lights in the corridors created a sense of sterility, yet there was patient art on the walls, which added warmth and hope.
Õpetaja juhendas neid väikestesse gruppidesse ja tutvustas osakonna töötajat.
The teacher guided them into small groups and introduced the department staff.
Rühm astus koosolekusaali, kus nad hakkasid arutama vaimse tervise teemasid.
The group stepped into the meeting room, where they started discussing mental health topics.
Kaarin tundis, et kõik vaatavad teda.
Kaarin felt like everyone was looking at her.
Tema ärevus kasvas.
Her anxiety grew.
Kui kaua ta suudab oma segadust varjata?
How long could she hide her confusion?
Süda peksis kiiresti, kui töötaja kutsus arutlema.
Her heart beat rapidly as the staff member called for discussion.
Kaarin knew she had to overcome her fears.
Ta heitis pilgu Tiinale, kes naeratas julgustavalt.
She glanced at Tiina, who smiled encouragingly.
See andis Kaarinile jõudu.
That gave Kaarin strength.
"Kõigile on keeruline," ütles Kaarin vaiksel häälel, ent siiski nii, et teised kuulsid.
"It's difficult for everyone," said Kaarin in a quiet voice, yet loud enough for others to hear.
"Ma tunnen sageli ärevust ja vahel ei tea, kellele rääkida."
"I often feel anxious and sometimes don't know who to talk to."
Kaarini peopesad higistasid, kuid ta jätkas.
Kaarin's palms were sweating, but she continued.
"Tiina, kas... kas sa oled kunagi tundnud sarnaselt?"
"Tiina, have you... have you ever felt the same?"
Tiina vaatas teda mõistvalt.
Tiina looked at her with understanding.
"Kaarin, sa ei ole üksi," sõnas ta.
"Kaarin, you're not alone," she said.
"Ma tunnen nii vahel samuti.
"I feel that way sometimes too.
Hea, et sa rääkisid."
It's good that you spoke up."
Kui koosolek lõppes, oli Kaarin sunnitud naeratama.
When the meeting ended, Kaarin found herself smiling.
Midagi tema sees oli muutunud.
Something inside her had changed.
Tiina's friendship had given her the confidence she had long sought.
Ta tundis, et kuulub kuhugi.
She felt like she belonged somewhere.
Kolis tagasi koolibussi, kustutas kevadpäike viimsegi mure Kaarini meelest.
As they returned to the school bus, the spring sun erased every last worry from Kaarin's mind.
She realized that sharing her feelings had brought a new friendship and connection.
And so, as the bus rolled back towards school, Kaarin felt lighter than ever before.
