Kaareli maailm tundus muutuvat.
Kaarel's world seemed to be changing.
Hiline suvi oli jõudnud Peipsi äärde.
The late summer had arrived at Peipsi's shores.
Pikkade männipuude vahel, laisalt vähehaaval lained kaldale mängimas, seisis nende armas suvila.
Between the tall pine trees, with waves lazily playing at the shore bit by bit, stood their beloved cottage.
Juba eemalt kostus ema häälekaid hõikeid ja rõõmsat naeru.
From afar, one could hear his mother's loud calls and joyful laughter.
Kuid Kaarel tundis end üksildasena.
Yet Kaarel felt lonely.
Teda ootas ees keeruline päev.
He was facing a challenging day.
Maarja, Kaareli ema, askeldas juba hommikust alates.
Maarja, Kaarel's mother, had been bustling around since morning.
She ensured everything would be perfect because today was the day they had to say goodbye to their dear dog, Viki.
Viki had spent nearly all the time with the family that Kaarel could remember, and now, as it was time to part, it made returning home even harder.
Leena oli samuti suvilasse tulnud.
Leena had also come to the cottage.
She had just returned from university, feeling somewhat estranged and guilty for not spending more time with Viki or the family.
Kaarel ei teadnud, kuidas Leenaga suhelda.
Kaarel didn't know how to interact with Leena.
They used to be close, but now silence prevailed between them.
"Kaarel, kas sa aitaksid mul Viki'ga jalutamas käia?
"Kaarel, would you help me take Viki for a walk?"
" küsis Maarja, vaadates poja poole lootusrikkalt.
asked Maarja, looking at her son hopefully.
"See võiks olla tema viimane jalutuskäik järve kaldal.
"This could be his last walk along the lakeshore."
”Kaarel noogutas vaikselt.
Kaarel nodded quietly.
He looked at the family for a long time and finally nodded towards Leena.
"Leena, kas sa tahad ka kaasa tulla?
"Leena, would you like to come along too?"
"Leena oli üllatunud, kuid rahulolev naeratus levis tema näole.
Leena was surprised, but a pleased smile spread across her face.
"Jah, muidugi," vastas ta.
"Yes, of course," she replied.
Nad haarasid rihma ja suundusid koos järve poole.
They grabbed the leash and headed towards the lake together.
Jalutades mööda tuttavat teed, muutusid nad lõpuks pingevabamaks.
Walking along the familiar path, they gradually became more at ease.
Kaarel looked towards the lake and said, "Do you remember when we were little and played with shadows by the lake?"
"Leena naeratas nostalgiliselt.
Leena smiled nostalgically.
"Jah, kui sa arvasid, et iga varjul võib olla oma lugu.
"Yes, when you thought every shadow could have its own story.
See oli vahva aeg.
Those were good times."
"Rääkides ja naerdes unustasid nad senised pinged.
Talking and laughing, they forgot their previous tensions.
Nad rääkisid mälestustest Viki'ga ja see aitas neid lähendada.
They shared memories of Viki, which brought them closer.
Viki sat at their feet, enjoying every moment he still had.
Tagasi tulles ühines nendega ka ema Maarja.
On their way back, their mother Maarja joined them.
Nad istusid kõik suvilatrepil, Viki nende keskel.
They all sat on the cottage steps, Viki in their midst.
Maarja lebas oma käed laste ümber.
Maarja placed her arms around her children.
"Me jätame Viki'le hea mälestuse.
"We'll leave Viki with a good memory."
"Hämaras valguses, kui päike sätendas veel viivuks puude vahel, jätsid nad hüvasti.
In the dim light, as the sun gleamed briefly between the trees, they said their goodbyes.
It was a sad yet beautiful moment, full of memories, laughter, and tears.
Viki looked at each of them with warm eyes, as if understanding.
Kaarel tundis suurt kergendust ja rahu.
Kaarel felt great relief and peace.
He realized that he had been apart from his family, only in his heart.
Kuid nüüd tundus kõik õigesti paigas.
But now everything seemed right.
Leena kallistas teda ja nad istusid vaikuses, nautides hetke koos.
Leena hugged him, and they sat in silence, enjoying the moment together.
See päev muutis Kaareli.
That day changed Kaarel.
He understood the importance of being open, sharing feelings, and spending time with family.
Even when times are tough, the family provides support.
Suvila rõõmsates valguses, järve vaikselt sumisedes, oli Kaarel rahul.
In the cheerful light of the cottage, with the lake gently murmuring, Kaarel was content.
Nad olid perekond, ja nad olid koos.
They were a family, and they were together.
And even if Viki was no longer with them, his love lived on in their hearts.
