  • Tallinna Keskkool valmistus uueks kooliaastaks.

Tallinna Keskkool was preparing for the new school year.

  • Koolimaja oli punastest telliskividest, suured aknad vaatasid välja rohelistele muruplatsidele.

The school building was made of red bricks, and large windows looked out onto green lawns.

  • Koridorides kostusid noorte elevil hääled.

In the corridors, the excited voices of young people echoed.

  • Kalev seisis oma kapi juures, süda puperdas.

Kalev stood by his locker, his heart fluttering.

Over the summer, he had become the president of the student council, but now he had to give his first speech.

  • Kalev polnud kõnedes kunagi tugev olnud.

Kalev had never been strong with speeches.

It was easier to solve math problems than to speak in front of everyone.

But his goal was to impress both the teachers and his fellow students.

  • Leena, särav tütarlaps, astus Kalevi juurde.

Leena, a bright girl, approached Kalev.

  • Tema naeratus kergendas Kalevi südant.

    Her smile eased Kalev's heart.

  • „Hei, Kalev!

    "Hey, Kalev!

  • Kas oled kõneks valmis?

Are you ready for the speech?"

  • ”Kalev kehitas õlgu ja vaatas ebalevalt maha.

Kalev shrugged and looked uncertainly downwards.

  • „Veidi närvis…”„Ma võin aidata.

"A bit nervous..." "I can help.

  • Harjutame koos,” pakkus Leena entusiastlikult.

Let's practice together," Leena offered enthusiastically.

  • Kalev kõhkles.

    Kalev hesitated.

He didn't want to show his weaknesses, but Leena was always helpful and friendly.

  • Lõpuks otsustas ta abi vastu võtta.

In the end, he decided to accept the help.

  • Nad veetsid õhtupooliku kooli auditooriumis, tühi ruum täitis Kalevi enesekindlusega.

They spent the afternoon in the school's auditorium, the empty room filled Kalev with confidence.

  • Leena andis häid nõuandeid: „Hinga sügavalt sisse.

Leena gave good advice: "Breathe deeply.

  • Räägi aeglaselt.

    Speak slowly."

  • ”Esimene koolipäev oli käes.

The first day of school arrived.

  • Lapsed kogunesid spordisaali.

    Children gathered in the gym.

Kalev held his speech in his trembling hands, but Leena’s words were on his mind.

When it was time to perform, he walked confidently to the stage.

  • Publik vaikis.

    The audience fell silent.

  • Kalev hingas sügavalt sisse ja alustas.

Kalev took a deep breath and began.

As he spoke, it seemed like with every word, the fear disappeared.

His voice sounded confident, and the message reached everyone.

  • Lõpuks murdsid kuulajad välja aplausi.

Finally, the audience broke into applause.

  • Kalev naeratas, ta oli saavutanud oma eesmärgi.

Kalev smiled; he had achieved his goal.

  • Sellest päevast saadik oli Kalev rohkem avatud abi vastu võtma.

From that day on, Kalev was more open to accepting help.

He learned to understand that teamwork and the support of friends are invaluable.

He became more confident in his speeches, and his voice was clearer than ever before.

  • Tallinna Keskkool sai temast uhkust tunda.

Tallinna Keskkool could be proud of him.
