Mateo and Camila entered the ice cream shop that was full of bright colors and cheerful decorations.
The sweet aroma of freshly made cones floated in the air.
Outside, it was cold, typical of a winter in Buenos Aires, but inside the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
Mateo, with his mischievous smile, looked at Camila and said, "I want to try all the flavors before they close."
Camila levantó una ceja, un poco preocupada.
Camila raised an eyebrow, a bit worried.
"¿Todos?
"All of them?
Mateo, we only have twenty minutes before they close.
¿Y si molestamos al personal?"
What if we bother the staff?"
Mateo se rió, despreocupado.
Mateo laughed, unconcerned.
"Vamos, Cami.
"Come on, Cami.
Será divertido.
It will be fun.
Prometo contarte un secreto si lo logramos."
I promise to tell you a secret if we manage it."
Intrigada por la promesa, Camila accedió.
Intrigued by the promise, Camila agreed.
They started their mission, catching the attention of the ice cream server.
"Perdón, ¿podemos probar este?"
"Excuse me, can we try this one?"
Mateo asked, pointing to the dulce de leche ice cream.
Camila, more cautious, requested a bit of dark chocolate.
Degustaron uno tras otro: frutilla, menta, banana split.
They sampled one after another: strawberry, mint, banana split.
Time was running and Camila's concern grew as she watched the staff begin to clean.
"Mateo, apurémonos," susurró ella.
"Mateo, let's hurry," she whispered.
However, Mateo, with a little spoon in hand, said, "Only five more to go."
Finally, with just minutes left before closing, they were down to the last flavors.
Laughing among themselves, almost running between the ice cream counter and their table, they managed to try them all.
Exhausted, the two sat down as the staff approached smiling.
"You did it," said one of the ice cream servers, in a friendly tone.
Mateo gave Camila a pat on the back.
"Lo logramos, Cami.
"We did it, Cami.
Y ahora, mi secreto," dijo dramatizando el momento.
And now, my secret," he said, dramatizing the moment.
"Siempre quisiste saber por qué estoy tan feliz.
"You've always wanted to know why I'm so happy.
The truth is that in moments like this, I forget to worry and just enjoy."
Camila sonrió, sintiendo un pequeño cambio interno.
Camila smiled, feeling a small internal change.
She learned to enjoy more without weighing the consequences so much.
She thanked Mateo for an unforgettable afternoon, one that taught her to enjoy the moment.
As they left the ice cream shop, with the door closing behind them, they both laughed.
They had tried every flavor, but most importantly, Camila had tried a new approach to living.
