The sun shone through the colorful leaves of the Schwarzwald.
Der Wald war im Herbst voller Leben und Farben.
The forest was full of life and colors in autumn.
The air was fresh and cool, and three friends, Anya, Klaus, and Lukas, hiked along a narrow path.
They were in good spirits because they planned to visit the Oktoberfest nearby after their hike.
Anya, the adventurous leader of the group, had discovered something interesting on an old map.
"Look here, there’s supposed to be an old hut," she said, holding up the map.
„Man sagt, sie sei verflucht.“
"They say it's cursed."
Klaus rümpfte die Nase.
Klaus wrinkled his nose.
„Das ist Unsinn“, sagte er.
"That's nonsense," he said.
„Warum sollten wir hingehen? Das ist bestimmt gefährlich.“
"Why should we go there? It's probably dangerous."
Lukas schauderte leicht.
Lukas shuddered slightly.
„Verflucht?
"Cursed? Sounds exciting," he said, although his voice trembled.
Anya lachte.
Anya laughed.
„Kommt schon! Ein kleines Abenteuer. Was kann schon passieren?“
"Come on! A little adventure. What could happen?"
After Anya continued to speak to Klaus, they reluctantly agreed.
Together, they made their way to the hut.
The hut was small and overgrown with ivy.
A few old, rotten boards bleached in the sun in front of the door.
The windows were dirty, and the air around the hut was still.
"Here we are," announced Anya, curious and brave.
„Lasst uns hineingehen.“
"Let's go inside."
Klaus seufzte, aber er folgte.
Klaus sighed, but he followed.
Lukas blieb dicht bei den anderen.
Lukas stayed close to the others.
„Es riecht hier seltsam“, sagte er leise.
"It smells strange here," he said quietly.
Drinnen war es dunkel und staubig.
Inside, it was dark and dusty.
Cobwebs hung in the corners, and the floorboards creaked with every step.
Auf einem alten Tisch lagen vergilbte Notizen.
Yellowed notes lay on an old table.
Plötzlich hörten sie ein leises Kratzen.
Suddenly, they heard a faint scratching.
Lukas sprang erschrocken zurück.
Lukas jumped back in fright.
„Was war das?“ flüsterte er hektisch.
"What was that?" he whispered anxiously.
Anya beugte sich über die Notizen.
Anya leaned over the notes.
"These mention an event... something strange. But I can't quite understand it," she murmured.
Klaus hielt seine Stimme fest.
Klaus kept his voice steady.
„Lasst uns gehen. Dieser Ort ist unheimlich.“
"Let's go. This place is creepy."
Just as they turned around, they heard a loud knocking.
Es klang wie Schritte, die näher kamen.
It sounded like footsteps coming closer.
Without another word, they bolted outside.
Draußen waren sie außer Atem, aber sicher.
Outside, they were out of breath but safe.
Lukas starrte zurück zur Hütte.
Lukas stared back at the hut.
„Da war wirklich etwas“, murmelte er.
"There really was something," he murmured.
Anya lächelte.
Anya smiled.
"I don't know what it was, but it was exciting," she said, feeling alive.
Klaus nickte.
Klaus nodded.
"Maybe it was good that we went inside. Sometimes the risk is worth it."
Together, they made their way back.
Anya realized that the adventure had changed them all.
Each had learned something new: the balance between curiosity and caution.
And although they hadn’t found any ghosts, they had discovered something for themselves.
