"Everything must be perfect today," he thought.

Greta kam fröhlich auf ihn zu, ihre Augen funkelten vor Freude.

Greta came happily towards him, her eyes sparkling with joy.

„Bist du bereit für ein Abenteuer, Lukas?“, fragte sie lächelnd.

"Are you ready for an adventure, Lukas?" she asked with a smile.

Lukas nickte begeistert, obwohl seine Hände ein wenig zitterten.

Lukas nodded enthusiastically, although his hands trembled a little.

Gemeinsam spazierten sie zwischen den Gehegen umher.

Together, they strolled among the enclosures.

Sie besuchten die Elefanten, die mit ihren langen Rüsseln Sand aufwirbelten, und die neugierigen Affen, die von Ast zu Ast sprangen.

They visited the elephants, who stirred up sand with their long trunks, and the curious monkeys, who leapt from branch to branch.

Greta war begeistert von den Tieren und erzählte Lukas alles, was sie über sie wusste.

In einem unbedachten Moment trat er etwas zu nah an die Absperrung.

In an unthinking moment, he stepped a bit too close to the barrier.

Plötzlich, ohne es zu merken, fand Lukas sich auf der falschen Seite des Zauns wieder, inmitten einer Gruppe neugieriger Erdmännchen.

Suddenly, without realizing it, Lukas found himself on the wrong side of the fence, in the midst of a group of curious meerkats.

Die Tür fiel hinter ihm zu.

The door closed behind him.

Panik durchzog seinen Körper, aber Greta lachte.

Panic coursed through his body, but Greta laughed.

Sie dachte, er hätte es mit Absicht gemacht.

She thought he had done it on purpose.

Lukas wählte schnell die Strategie: „Äh, ja, ich wollte mal sehen, wie die Erdmännchen so aus ihrer Sicht leben“, rief er und versuchte cool zu wirken.

Lukas quickly chose the strategy: "Uh, yeah, I wanted to see what it's like living from the meerkats' perspective," he called out, trying to appear cool.

Die kleinen Tiere schnüffelten um ihn herum, scheinbar ebenso überrascht von seinem Auftritt wie er selbst.

The little animals sniffed around him, seemingly just as surprised by his appearance as he was.

Bald kam Hans, der Zoodirektor, und schüttelte den Kopf.

Soon, Hans, the zoo director, came over, shaking his head.

„Nicht schon wieder“, murmelte Hans.

"Not again," Hans muttered.

Er kannte solche Situationen nur zu gut.

He was all too familiar with such situations.

Mit ruhigen Schritten betrat er das Gehege, öffnete die Tür und winkte Lukas hinaus.

With calm steps, he entered the enclosure, opened the door, and motioned Lukas out.

„Bitte hier entlang. Und nächstes Mal bleiben Sie außerhalb der Gehege, ja?“

“Please, this way. And next time, stay outside the enclosures, yes?”

Greta konnte sich vor Lachen kaum halten.

Greta could hardly contain her laughter.

Lukas kam sicher wieder heraus und verbeugte sich schelmisch.

Lukas safely emerged and bowed mischievously.

„Voilà, ich hoffe, du bist beeindruckt!“, sagte er mit einem breiten Grinsen.

"Voilà, I hope you're impressed!" he said with a broad grin.

„Beeindruckt vielleicht nicht, aber definitiv amüsiert“, lachte Greta.

"Impressed maybe not, but definitely amused," laughed Greta.

„Du hast einen tollen Humor, Lukas.“

"You've got a great sense of humor, Lukas."

Am Ende des Tages gingen Lukas und Greta zusammen zum Ausgang.

At the end of the day, Lukas and Greta walked together to the exit.

Lukas spürte, dass er sich verändert hatte.

Lukas felt he had changed.

Er hatte gelernt, dass er nicht auffällig handeln musste, um Eindruck zu machen.

He had learned that he didn't need to act conspicuously to make an impression.

Greta mochte ihn so, wie er war: charmant und mit einem guten Sinn für Humor.

Greta liked him just the way he was: charming and with a good sense of humor.

„Das war wohl das beste Date, das ich je hatte“, sagte Greta und drückte Lukas leicht die Hand.

"That was probably the best date I've ever had," Greta said, giving Lukas a gentle squeeze of the hand.

„Lass uns bald wieder ein Abenteuer starten.“

"Let's go on another adventure soon."

Lukas lächelte selbstbewusst.

Lukas smiled confidently.

„Unbedingt“, sagte er.

"Absolutely," he said.

Der Ausflug in den Zoo Berlin war ein voller Erfolg und der Beginn einer wunderbaren Verbindung.
