Anja wollte das glauben.

Anja wanted to believe that.

Aber in ihrem Kopf waren Zahlen und Formeln durcheinandergewirbelt.

Die Farben der Blumen draußen schienen viel einladender.

The colors of the flowers outside seemed much more inviting.

Während der Mittagspause setzte sich Anja zu Sophie im Garten.

During lunch break, Anja sat with Sophie in the garden.

"Ich wünschte, ich könnte einfach malen," sagte sie.

"I wish I could just paint," she said.

Sophie verstand.

"Warum verbindest du nicht beides?"

"Why don't you combine both?"
