He had recently moved to Savannah and still felt a bit lost.

The city was new to him.

Er wollte Freunde finden und sich zu Hause fühlen.

He wanted to make friends and feel at home.

Doch ohne Hund fühlte er sich bei der Veranstaltung fehl am Platz.

But without a dog, he felt out of place at the event.

Hanna hingegen bewegte sich mühelos durch die Menschenmenge.

Hanna, on the other hand, moved effortlessly through the crowd.

Neben ihr trottete Max, ihr treuer golden Retriever.

Beside her trotted Max, her loyal golden retriever.

Er war gut erzogen und genoss die Aufmerksamkeit der Menschen um ihn herum.

He was well-behaved and enjoyed the attention of the people around him.

Lukas sah Hanna und Max.

Lukas saw Hanna and Max.

Er bemerkte, wie gut Max sich benahm.

He noticed how well-behaved Max was.

"Wow, was für ein braver Hund", sagte er, ohne groß nachzudenken.

"Wow, what a good dog," he said, without thinking much.

Hanna drehte sich um und lächelte.

Hanna turned and smiled.

"Danke", antwortete sie.

"Thank you," she replied.

"Das ist Max. Er liebt Spaziergänge im Park."

"This is Max. He loves walks in the park."

Mutig gefragt, fasste sich Lukas ein Herz. "Darf ich euch auf eurer Runde begleiten?" fragte er.

Gathering his courage, Lukas asked boldly, "May I join you on your walk?" he asked.

Hanna nickte freundlich.

Hanna nodded kindly.

"Klar, komm mit uns."

"Sure, come with us."

Während sie nebeneinander her gingen, unterhielten sie sich über Hunde, aber bald schon auch über andere Dinge.

As they walked side by side, they talked about dogs, but soon also about other things.

Lukas erzählte Hanna von seiner alten Heimat, und Hanna teilte Geschichten über das Leben in Savannah.

Lukas told Hanna about his former home, and Hanna shared stories about life in Savannah.

Sie entdeckten, dass sie viele gemeinsame Interessen hatten.

They discovered that they had many common interests.

Der Spaziergang fühlte sich viel zu kurz an.

The walk felt much too short.

Als sie den Park verließen, tauschten sie Nummern aus.

As they left the park, they exchanged numbers.

"Vielleicht können wir mehr von Savannah zusammen erkunden?" schlug Hanna vor.

"Maybe we can explore more of Savannah together?" Hanna suggested.

Lukas strahlte.

Lukas beamed.

"Das würde mir sehr gefallen."

"I’d love that."

Am Ende des Tages hatte Lukas mehr als erwartet gefunden.

By the end of the day, Lukas had found more than he expected.

Er fühlte sich willkommen.

He felt welcomed.

Mit neuem Mut blickte er in die Zukunft.

With newfound courage, he looked to the future.

Hanna hingegen freute sich, einen neuen Freund gefunden zu haben.

Hanna, on the other hand, was delighted to have made a new friend.

Das fröhliche Bellen von Max begleitete die beiden in die beginnende Freundschaft hinein.

The cheerful barking of Max accompanied the two into the beginning of their friendship.

Und so begann Lukas, sich in seiner neuen Stadt wohlzufühlen, während Hanna offen dafür war, neue Bekanntschaften zu schließen.

And so Lukas began to feel at home in his new city, while Hanna was open to forming new acquaintances.

Forsyth Park, in all seiner Pracht, wurde zum Zeugen für den Beginn einer wunderbaren Freundschaft.
