Y mae’r gwyntoedd o’r môr yn chwythu drwy goed aur Aberystwyth ym mis Hydref.
The winds from the sea blow through the golden trees of Aberystwyth in October.
Mae’r myfyrwyr yn symud rhwng darlithoedd, gyda choblyn o brysurdeb.
The students move between lectures with all sorts of busyness.
Wrth ochr y Llyfrgell Hafren, eisteddai Rhys ar fainc gyda llyfrau piled uchel o’i gwmpas.
Beside the "Llyfrgell Hafren", Rhys sat on a bench with books piled high around him.
Roedd ei lygad yn methu ffocysu, ei ben yn orlawn o syniadau a theorïau am fioleg môr.
His eyes couldn’t focus, his head was overflowing with ideas and theories about marine biology.
Pan ddaw Carys i weld Rhys, gwenodd hi’n eang.
When Carys came to see Rhys, she smiled broadly.
"Rhys," meddai Carys gyda’i llais melys, "beth am fynd am dro?"
"Rhys," said Carys with her sweet voice, "how about going for a walk?"
"Dim amser, Carys," atebodd Rhys yn frwnt, llygaid wedi’u plygu ar y tudalen.
"No time, Carys," answered Rhys brusquely, his eyes glued to the page.
Ond roedd Carys, wastad yn ffrind diymatal, yn gwybod ei fod yn gwrthod yr union beth oedd ei angen arno.
But Carys, always the persistent friend, knew he was refusing exactly what he needed.
Yr oedd nerfusrwydd Rhys wedi cynyddu hyd at bwynt lle roedd fel pe bai cyfrifiadur yn gor-lwytho.
Rhys's nervousness had increased to the point where he seemed like a computer overloaded.
"Heia, bydd taf ar dy draed ar dy orau ar gyfer y prawf yfory," meddai hi.
"Hey, you’ll be on your feet at your best for tomorrow’s test," she said.
Roedd gan Carys ffordd arbennig o dawelu Rhys, trwy ei hatgoffa bod bywyd yn fwy na dim ond gwaith caled.
Carys had a special way of calming Rhys by reminding him that life is more than just hard work.
Roedd yr haul mewn gwe, goleuo’r môr yn nenllad ac yn gwneud i’r ton nau castellau o donnau ar y glan, lle pyrrolfon Carys.
The sun was in a web, lighting up the sea in the evening and creating waves like castles on the shore, where Carys pirouetted.
"Ond mae’r prawf..." dechreuodd Rhys, ond wnaeth dimrhy ddim yn gorffen y frawddeg, gan wybod mewnol nad oedd yn gallu parhau yn hyn.
"But the test..." started Rhys, but he didn’t finish the sentence, internally knowing he couldn’t continue like this.
Roedd ei feddwl yn gwagedd. Fe gafodd Carys y gwynt wrth ragoriaeth yn ei ddiffodd e.
His mind was blank. Carys had excellently extinguished his worries.
Y noson hon, crwydrodd hwy ar hyd y prom drwy drefgan.
That night, they wandered along the promenade through town.
Teimlodd Rhys y llif o aer ffres, y swn sâl drosfa cerdded ar y cerrig, a'r hymdeimad pured o’r tymor.
Rhys felt the rush of fresh air, the sound of shuffling feet on the stones, and the pure sensation of the season.
Wrth iddynt gerdded, cwymodd Rhys mewn i sgwrs hamdden i ffwrdd o bwysau ei astudiaethau, ac yn araf, teimlodd yr egni’n dychwelyd iddo.
As they walked, Rhys fell into an easy conversation, away from the pressures of his studies, and slowly felt his energy return.
Wedi cerdded, dychwelodd Rhys adref yn teimlo’n hollol wahanol.
After walking, Rhys returned home feeling completely different.
Gwnaeth incwm awyr agored a gebinsation sylweddol i’w haus a atgoffodd ei bod angen ar ei feddwl hamdden.
The outdoor air had a substantial impact on him and reminded him that his mind needed relaxation.
Ymddangosodd hyder newydd, a allai lansio tomorrows with a pitch of possibility yn lle ansicrwydd a marwolaeth.
A new confidence emerged that could launch tomorrows with a pitch of possibility instead of uncertainty and fatigue.
Pan ganodd y cloc i ddechrau’r arholiad y diwrnod canlynol, roedd Rhys yn eistedd, calw o’i flaen.
When the clock signaled the start of the exam the following day, Rhys sat down, calm before him.
Roedd ei feddwl yn glir, enaid yn ddisciplin a gallai ysgrifennu fel oedd y môr wedi’i glynu i gyflwyno iddo.
His mind was clear, his spirit disciplined, and he could write as if the sea had been calling to him.
Ddaeth yn ôl ei waith gyda hyder newydd wedi’i wagor gan chariadau a chynysgiad a ildiodd iddi Carys.
He returned to his work with a newfound confidence awakened by the love and encouragement he received from Carys.
Rhywbryd ymbell, ymysg sibrwd hanesion amseroeddoedd yn Aberystwyth, deallai Rhys, fel mae’r tymheroedd yn cyfrif, y bydd bywyd ef suddynt eto beth newydd sŵr, nad yw ffocws ar lwyddiant, ond pwysigrwydd ymlacio a pharhad.
Sometime in the distance, among the whispered tales of bygone times in Aberystwyth, Rhys would understand, as the seasons account, that his life would count for something new and beautiful, that the focus is not on success, but the importance of relaxation and perseverance.
Ac wedi chwarae fel hynny ar hyd y tonnau, ac o dan awyr enfys â chariad.
And to play like that along the waves, under a sky of rainbows with love.
