'Tybiodd llwyth o ddaear yn sibrwd gyda sŵn y leirch rhwng canghennau trwm y coed.
"A mound of earth seemed to whisper with the sound of the leirch between the heavy branches of the trees.
Cyffyrddodd y gwynt âr ffenestri mawr wedyn fe chwibianodd yn groes i'r llawr derw yn y cartref teuluol.
The wind touched the large windows and then whistled across the oak floor in the family home.
Roedd Mabon, gŵyl yr equinox hydref, ar fin cyrraedd a'r amser i ddathlu yn agosáu.
Mabon, the festival of the autumn equinox, was about to arrive, and the time to celebrate was approaching.
Byddai y cartref teuluol mawr, gyda ei glustogau a'i gelfi cartrefol, yn llawn o bobl, cymaint â'u cerdded yn glawio ac yn prysio tuag at y lleiaf o HWB.
The large family home, with its cushions and homely furniture, would be full of people, all making their way despite the rain and hurrying toward the smallest of HWB.
Rhys, Nia, a Eleri, y tri brawd sydd fel aur yn yr hyn simnai, oedd y sawl a fu'n flinedig yn paratoi.
Rhys, Nia, and Eleri, the three siblings as precious as gold in the old chimney, were the ones tirelessly preparing.
Rhys, y mab canol, oedd yn anaml iawn yn sefyll dan yr awyr goleuog.
Rhys, the middle child, was rarely seen under the bright sky.
Roedd yn ddyn ifanc tawel, a bu fe'n prysur drio trefnu'r digwyddiad teuluol mawr.
He was a quiet young man, busy trying to organize the big family event.
Roedd yn awyddus i wneud argraff.
He was eager to make an impression.
Rhaid oedd profi ei hun yn erbyn y gwell canol llawen teulu mawr ei deledu.
He needed to prove himself against the better-equipped family members with their big televisions.
Roedd cynrychioli treftadaeth yr eiconyn Mabon ar ddydd y gŵyl yn bwysicach na dim arall.
Representing the heritage of the Mabon icon on the festival day was more important than anything else.
Roedd Nia, yr hynaf, yn drefnus a doeth.
Nia, the eldest, was organized and wise.
Roedd hi wedi gosod pobol i wneud eu tasgau heb fawr o anhawster.
She had assigned tasks to everyone with little difficulty.
Roedd arni ofn y byddai Rhys yn methu cofio'r holl bethau pwysig.
She feared Rhys might forget all the important things.
Roedd yn awyddus i'w helpu, er ei bod hi'n meddwl nad oedd ei chariad erioed yn ddigon i drefnu'r holl bethau.
She was keen to help him, though she thought her love had never been enough to organize everything.
Roedd Hi'n disgleirio tra'u gwynt wedi cygre ddod o'r tu allan.
She shone as the wind crafted its way in from outside.
Yn ei gweithredoedd, roedd ei bŵer yn glir.
In her actions, her strength was clear.
Eleri, y lleiaf, oedd y mwyaf prysur bob amser.
Eleri, the youngest, was always the busiest.
Roedd hi'n gweithio gyda basgedi llawn o cyfunoliaeth addurniadau Nadolig. Yn chwilio am gerddi pynciog i gordi i law.
She worked with baskets full of combined Christmas decorations, looking for quirky poems to weave together.
Hi, brat ei hyn.
She, the darling of her own making.
Roedd Rhys yn poeni llawer ar ddechrau’r diwrnod.
Rhys worried a lot at the start of the day.
Roedd ganddo gynlluniau mawr, ond troubleiwyd ei ymennydd gan syniadau a meddyliau dryslyd.
He had big plans, but his mind was troubled by confusing ideas and thoughts.
"Beth os na fydd popeth yn berffaith?" meddyliai o hyd.
"What if everything isn't perfect?" he kept thinking.
Ond cyn i unrhyw feddyliau nas gwahodd ddryllio ei ddatblygiad, fe wellodd Rhys fwyaf gwych ei deulu.
But before any uninvited thoughts could derail his progress, Rhys saw the wonderful sight of his family.
Ysgrifennodd gyfarwyddiadau manwl a gofynnodd am gymorth yn ofalus.
He wrote detailed instructions and asked for help carefully.
'Nia, ti byddi'n arwain y bwrdd difyrru,' meddai Rhys gyda hyder newydd.
"Nia, you'll lead the entertainment table," Rhys said with newfound confidence.
'A Eleri, ti cei cromfa i weithio gyda'r eryr ifanc.'
"And Eleri, you can have the corner to work with the young eagle."
Gyda chyngor Nia a chwaraegeiriau cywrain Eleri, llwyddodd Rhys greu noson o groeso teuluol.
With Nia's advice and Eleri's playful quips, Rhys managed to create an evening of family warmth.
Roedd pawb wedi ymgasglu, y câniau'n uchel a'r sgwrs yn llifo fel afon.
Everyone gathered, songs rose high, and conversation flowed like a river.
Ond wrth ddawnsio dan yr awyr agored, ynganwyd y gwaethaf o law.
But while dancing under the open sky, the worst of rains was pronounced.
Erchyll iawn roedd Rhys, a'i calonnau'n daclus cymylau mawr tywyll.
Rhys was very upset, his heart tidying with big dark clouds.
Ond darganfu rhywbeth na fyddai'n ei ryddhau.
But he discovered something that wouldn't be released.
Clynoi swyddi erbyn hyn, heb peidio.
Duties clung by now, without ceasing.
Symudodd y dathliadau tu fewn.
He moved the celebrations indoors.
Addenwyd ei wyneb gan y llewyg flêr o ganllawiau meddwl llawen.
His face brightened by the liberating blur of cheerful guidance.
Wrth i'r cawl derwen gael ei basio o amgylch a'r nwy'n bywiogi'r nos, roedd Rhys yn gweld cymeriadu ei deulu.
As the oak stew was passed around and the gas brought the night to life, Rhys saw the character of his family.
Dywedodd Nia wrth wenu, 'Gellir cynllunio, ond nid yr wynebder.'
Nia said with a smile, "You can plan, but not the face of it."
Gan bwrw ei breichiau dros ei frawd, gwyrodd Eleri gyda llawen wrth law, 'Mae pob llwyddiant fel hyn.'
Eleri, throwing an arm around her brother, leaned in cheerfully, "Every success is like this."
Ac felly, Rhys, gyda synnwyr cymysg o falchder, brofodd ei hun.
And so, Rhys, with a mixed sense of pride, proved himself.
Roedd canu a mwynhau pobl wrth y bwrdd yn cario drwy'r nos, a nawr oedd Rhys, yn teimlo mwy o hyder nag o'r blaen.
The singing and enjoyment around the table carried through the night, and now Rhys, felt more confident than ever before.
Roedd y cwtsh a'r ŵyl yn berffaith ddiolch i ysbryd ei deulu.
The embrace and the festival were perfect thanks to the spirit of his family.
Fe adnabyddodd Rhys ei werth a'i le un gŵyl Mabon, un diwrnod glawog yr hydref hwnnw.
Rhys recognized his worth and place on one Mabon festival, one rainy autumn day.
Roedd y dydd yn cau, a'r seren Gymraeg yn disgleirio ohoni.
The day was closing, and the Welsh star shone brightly upon it.
