Yn y gwanwyn cynnar, ym myw haint bywiog Gorsaf Maes, roedd Rhys yn osgoi pob trafod difrifol drwy brofi ei ffrwd o straeon.
In the early spring, amidst the lively hustle of Gorsaf Maes, Rhys was avoiding all serious discussions by testing his stream of stories.
Roedd ei goes wedi'i bandio'n dynn, yn gamlas ar-conna i atgofion a chwilfrydedd.
His leg was wrapped tightly, a channel to memories and curiosity.
"Siân, beth ti'n feddwl am fy teorïa newydd?
"Siân, what do you think of my new theory?"
" meddai Rhys yn gynnes, gyda disglyg yn ei lygad.
Rhys said warmly, with a twinkle in his eye.
"Meddylia hyn: mae 'na gysylltiad rhwng fy nghoes a'r tywydd!
"Imagine this: there's a connection between my leg and the weather!"
"Edrychodd Siân, y nyrs ofalgar, ar Rhys gyda sgeptigiaeth amlwg.
Siân, the caring nurse, looked at Rhys with clear skepticism.
"Rwy'n amheus, Rhys.
"I'm doubtful, Rhys.
Sut alla i goelio hynny?
How can I believe that?"
" atebodd hi, er bod gwên fach ar sudd ei hwyneb.
she replied, though there was a small smile on her face.
Gyda llaw, llusgodd Rhys y bolyn cotiaid tuag at ei lwyth o bapurau a nodiadau, pob un yn llawysgrif ei lafur hunan a'i gynllwynion llawen.
With a gesture, Rhys dragged the coat stand towards his heap of papers and notes, each one penned in his own handwriting of self-written labor and cheerful conspiracies.
"Rwy'n cynnig bet, Siân!
"I propose a bet, Siân!
Os bydd 'n glawio heno, wn i'n ennill.
If it rains tonight, I win."
"Gwenodd Siân yn awyddus, gan osgoi chwythu anadl yn gwbl swnllyd.
Siân smiled eagerly, avoiding bursting into full-throated laughter.
"Rhys, mae dal gennym rai cyfarfodydd i fynd drwy.
"Rhys, we've still got some meetings to go through.
Ond am syniad: gadael i weddill y staff ymuno!
But here's an idea: let's get the rest of the staff involved!"
"Yn raddol, lledaenodd y gair o gwmpas y gorsaf.
Gradually, the word spread around the station.
Roedd yr awyr yn orlawn o chwerthin tenau tra bod eun berthnasau eraill, fel 'Llywydd Rhys', yn erbyn cerdded i fyny'r grisiau at yr ystafell fawr.
The air was filled with thin laughter as other colleagues, like 'President Rhys', refrained from walking up the stairs to the large room.
Roedd awgrym disyched i wneud beth bynnag posib i gadw'r awyrgylch yn ffres.
There was a thirsty suggestion to do anything possible to keep the atmosphere fresh.
Bu hydra wedi'i wneud o Beti, y cynorthwyydd gwenerows.
A hydra was made by Beti, the generous assistant.
Goglais ei bryd tuag at Rhys ag argraffiad gwisgog, wrth edrych ar y gorchmynion crysal gydag wyneb lleol.
She glanced towards Rhys with a dressed impression, while looking at the crystal orders with a local face.
Daeth ddoe, a daeth yr amser i ddatgelu'r canlyniad i phob llygad oedd wedi dod.
Yesterday came, and it was time to reveal the result to every eye present.
Roedd y mwg yn crynhoi yn yr awyr, a'r holl olion yr ARWeinydd Milfedd Shakespeare oedd yn fwy o arwydd pryderus.
Smoke gathered in the air, and all traces of the Milfedd Shakespeare Leader were more of a troubling sign.
Cyn yr amser derfynol, diflannodd yr oleuni lawr i'r ddaear.
Before the final moment, the light faded low to the ground.
Datblygodd llwydni oedd yn o deledol, tarodd fflach filltir ac yna cyrhaeddodd y glaw - ond dim ond cwpl o ennyd.
A mildew developed that was almost telepathic, a flash struck a mile away, and then the rain came - but only for a couple of moments.
"Dwi'n dal i alcodi'r morol buddugoliaeth gen i," dywedodd Rhys yn feisty, gan roi mwgwd llydan dros ystod o bobl.
"I'm still heralding my maritime victory," said Rhys feistily, spreading a wide grin over a range of people.
Roedd Siân mor siomedig mewn gafodydd ac yn gwneud gwobr 'athronydd tywydd' o dywod a phapur trawsbynciol, ac yna rhoi iddo.
Siân was so disappointed in meetings and made a ‘weather philosopher’ award from sand and cross-stitched paper, and then gave it to him.
"Rhys, rwyt yn ychwanegu bywyd i'r ysbyty," cyfaddefodd hi, gan beidio â chuddio ei mawredd llawn.
"Rhys, you bring life to the hospital," she admitted, not hiding her full extent of admiration.
Yn y diwedd, sylweddolodd Rhys faint yr oedd ei deulu, a cherdded i'r ffenestr, yn edrych at y porth ar y picnic.
In the end, Rhys realized the breadth of his family, and walked to the window, looking at the porch for the picnic.
Roedd wedi agor ei galon i visita cartref gwendid anhepgor a Chymdeithas,—a gyda hynny, roedd Siân hefyd wedi darganfod hwyl y gwyro gwrth-gynnar a chynhesu clustai hen gyd-beirniadaeth.
He had opened his heart to the unwavering weakness and home visit Society,—and with that, Siân too had discovered the joy of early bending and the warmth of old shared criticism.
