  • Ar ôl i'r nos gau ei gŵn ddu dros yr ysgol breswyl yn y wlad Gymreig, roedd y seren nos yn pefrio'n llewyrchus.

After night draped its black gown over the boarding school in the Welsh countryside, the night star shone brightly.

  • Yn nhŷ cysur y gwersyll ysgol, roedd Anwen i weld yn sownd rhwng uniondab a breuddwyd.

In the cozy building of the school camp, Anwen seemed caught between wakefulness and dreams.

  • Roedd yn ferch gyson, yn dilyn rheolau bob amser, ond roedd rhywbeth yn bownsio yn ei chalon.

She was a consistent girl, always following the rules, but something was bouncing in her heart.

  • Heintiedig gan yr awydd annisgwyl am ryddhad, un ai o'r lleoliad neu'r amser.

Contaminated by an unexpected desire for freedom, either from the place or time.

  • "Anwen," sibrydodd Dafydd, tra'n sipian ei lais rhwng y cysgodion.

"Anwen," whispered Dafydd, weaving his voice through the shadows.

  • Roedd Dafydd yn gyfaill hen, gyda'i natur ddibynnol ond o ran perygl a difyrrwch.

Dafydd was an old friend, with a reliable nature but a penchant for danger and fun.

  • Roedd e wrth fodd i brofi popeth, heb ffiniau.

He delighted in experiencing everything, with no boundaries.

  • Yr unig un a allai wireddu eu cynllun oedd Gethin, gyfaethog a deallus, a chydag eu clwb hud yn serennu.

The only one who could realize their plan was Gethin, wealthy and intelligent, and with their magic club shining.

  • Fel prefet, roedd rhaid iddo gynnal cyfanrwydd, ond yn eisiau gwaredu ei hun hefydd o'r gweithredoedd disgybledig.

As a prefect, he had to maintain order, but he also wished to rid himself of disciplined actions.

  • Heno, roedd yn wahanol.

    Tonight was different.

  • Heno, gwyliau’r Haf oedd, tymhorolith cychwyn ysgafn gyda gwen sy’n cadarnhau haf y mwyniant.

Tonight, it was the summer holidays, the season's soft start with a smile that affirms a summer of enjoyment.

  • Roedd Anwen yn benderfynol, er gwaethaf ei harfogaethau, i botio i ffwrdd o’i hystafell feddal.

Anwen was determined, despite her reservations, to whisk away from her soft room.

  • Cyn i'r cloc daro'n hir, safodd y tri wrth ddrws cefn yr ysgol.

Before the clock struck long, the three stood at the back door of the school.

  • Roedd yr adeilad o gerrig hynafol, wedi'i orchuddio gan ddringfen demtasiwn, yn addaw cymorth i'r cychwyn eu crwydro.

The ancient stone building, covered by climbing temptation, promised assistance for the kickoff of their wandering.

  • Yn ara bach, a hufen pwerau Dafydd yn eu tywys heibio i ffenestri’r brifathro, gwnaethant ei ffordd trwy'r gollwng.

Slowly, with Dafydd's powers guiding them past the headmaster’s windows, they made their way through the escape.

  • Gydag aur uwchben, cododd y dydd newydd gydag addewidion o brofiad cyffrous.

With gold above, the new day rose with promises of thrilling experience.

  • Yn olau amser, cyn godiad haul anhardd, daethant at ben y bryn, oedd yn berffaith â phrydlondeb.

In the light of time, before the untouched sunrise, they arrived at the top of the hill, which was perfectly timed.

  • Bu'r haul yn tra-fraz drws y gorwel, ac ymhellaer, canatodd ymddangosiad ei hedfan.

The sun burst through the horizon, and far off, allowed the appearance of its flight.

  • Yr haul yn annerch y wlad, am wyn sawl diwrnod.

The sun greeted the country, for many white days.

  • "Rhyfeddol," cwtogodd Anwen.

    "Wonderful," Anwen sighed.

  • Roedd ei chyfailliaethau'n gwenu hefyd, yn gloddesta ar yr eiliad hynod rydd.

Her companions were smiling too, basking in the extraordinarily free moment.

  • Ond, nid oedd pethau mor syml bob amser.

But things weren't always so simple.

  • Yn sydyn, eglurhaodd y llais tybiedig o'u tu ôl.

Suddenly, a supposed voice clarified from behind them.

  • "Bechgyn!" gwichodd, un o’r athrawon, ei llais yn chwerthin.

"Boys!" screeched one of the teachers, her voice laughing.

  • "Ddim yn barod i edrych dros i ni eto, eh?"

"Not ready to look over us yet, eh?"

  • Arhosasant gyda'u pennau'n lirmred, ond dadleodd Gethin gyda'r athro.

They stayed with their heads bowed, but Gethin argued with the teacher.

  • "Rydym yn dathlu, athro.

    "We’re celebrating, teacher.

  • Y tymor olith.

    The end of the term.

  • Dim mwy."

    No more."

  • Wedi hamser ei esbonio, cafodd yr ymateb a chwerthin wrhyd, rwgbob: "Gedwch y tro yma."

After some time explaining, they received a brave laugh in response, "Off the hook this time."

  • Gyddol henu, roedden nhw’n eu galyfyddedd i'r goedol.

With that, they lost themselves into the forest.

  • Deunydd Anwen oedd ar Gymraeg oreu; ni chafodd eiliad i sgriwio ei pen.

Anwen's Welsh material was the best; she hadn't a moment to doubt her mind.

  • Am byth, roedd yn cofio hynny ewn wythien i’w digrifwch yn hydug.

Forever, she would remember that unique moment of cheer in her youth.

  • Roedd y gwrthdysg wedi diflannu erbyn hyn.

The rebellion had vanished by then.

  • Y bore hwnnw, enillodd Anwen rhywbeth prin.

That morning, Anwen gained something rare.

  • Roedd falchder wedi hedfan ar waith.

    Pride had soared through her.

  • Sylweddolodd pa mor bwysig yw llongyfarch ei aceniadau, a hefyd, amgylchiadau.

She realized how important it is to congratulate her accomplishments, and also, the circumstances.

  • Roedd ei goluddiaeth wedi'i llenwi, a'i llygaid yn edrych ymlaen at y bore sydd i ddod.

Her soul was filled, and her eyes looked forward to the morning to come.
