  • Yng ngolau olaf yr hydref, roedd Gareth yn syllu ar y dail melyn ac oren yn cwympo o'r Dderwen Hynafol.

In the last light of autumn, Gareth was gazing at the yellow and orange leaves falling from the Ancient Oak.

  • Roedd yn wybodus bod rhywbeth yn cuddio o dan wraidd y goeden yma yn y gwlad Gymraeg.

He knew that something was hiding beneath the roots of this tree in Welsh country.

  • Ond beth? Dwyn a gofynnwyd yn fawr ganddo.

But what? It was a question that plagued him.

  • Ddechreuodd y cyfan pan ddarganfu'r map cryptig, cuddiedig mewn bocs gwellt yn nhŷ ei daid.

It all began when he discovered the cryptic map, hidden in a straw box in his grandfather's house.

  • Gareth oedd y cyntaf i ddeall ei arwyddocâd.

Gareth was the first to understand its significance.

  • Yn ddisglair a hynod benderfynol, roedd wedi ei ysbrydoli i ddilyn llwybr ei hynafiaid.

Bright and extremely determined, he was inspired to follow the path of his ancestors.

  • Roedd Carys, ei gefnder cyflym a chwareus, wrth ragor fyth, ei gyffroi am yr antur.

Carys, his quick and playful cousin, was even more excited about the adventure.

  • Ond roedd Llewelyn, y cymydog hynafyddol, yn fwy amheus.

But Llewelyn, the old neighbor, was more skeptical.

  • “Peidiwch â diosg ysbrydion y coeden,” rhybuddiodd ef.

“Don’t disturb the spirits of the tree,” he warned.

  • Ond roedd Gareth yn barod i anwybyddu trac Llewelyn.

Yet Gareth was ready to ignore Llewelyn’s caution.

  • Roedd yn teimlo'n gryf am y teulu a'r hetifeddiaeth.

He felt strongly about family and heritage.

  • Yn ystod Noson Guy Fawkes, roedd y ffurfafen yn fflachio â thanybontiau, y sain arallfydol yn llenwi'r aer oer.

On Guy Fawkes Night, the sky was flashing with fireworks, the otherworldly sound filling the cold air.

  • Roedd Gareth a Carys yn saffwl o flaen yr hen dderwen.

Gareth and Carys stood before the old oak.

  • Dilynasant y cliwiau ar y map i rywle o dan ran o'r gwreiddiau sydd wedi datguddio gwirydd du.

They followed the clues on the map to somewhere beneath a part of the roots that had exposed a black cavity.

  • Yna, daethon nhw o hyd i doriad glynu yn ôl yn dywyll.

Then, they found a dark recess sticking back.

  • Yn llawn cyfog a chyffro, symudon nhw i mewn, llaw yn llaw.

Filled with apprehension and excitement, they moved in, hand in hand.

  • Roedd riddle arall o'u blaenau, tra nad oedd Llewelyn yn bell, gan draddodi ei straeon cyn-goffaol am y dderwen.

There was another riddle before them, while Llewelyn was not far off, recounting his ancient stories about the oak.

  • Eto, Gareth a Carys oedd yn gadarn.

Yet, Gareth and Carys were resolute.

  • Datryson nhw'r riddle yn ofalus gan ddadorchuddio eitem hunus.

They solved the riddle carefully, unveiling a unique item.

  • Roedd hi'n fwy na'r aur a disgwylid: cresta teulu a ddangosodd hunaniaeth hen hen rieni.

It was more than the expected gold: a family crest that revealed the identity of ancient ancestors.

  • Roedd hwn yn freintiaeth ddwys.

    This was a profound privilege.

  • Wedi'r daith, sylweddolodd Gareth mai'r gwir drysor oedd etifeddu hanes a'i drysori am byth.

After the journey, Gareth realized that the true treasure was inheriting history and cherishing it forever.

  • Roedd ei le, yn wyneb dewrder ei hynafiaid, wedi ei ysbrydoli i ddysgu pwy oedd yn ei hun yn wir hyder.

His place, in the face of his ancestors' bravery, inspired him to learn who he truly was with genuine confidence.

  • Roedd yn moredd hawlio'r hanes na ddaeth enfys gwobrwyo deunydd.

He found pride in claiming the history that didn't come with material reward.

  • Diweddodd ychwaith y tale fyfyrwyr Gareth.

Nor did Gareth’s tale conclude there.

  • Eisteddodd gyda’r teulu ar hyd tam bol holedd miwl David, cymerodd camllith, ei sŵno niwlen, a, caid.

He sat with his family along the length of David's mule path, took a misstep, murmured silently, and caressed.

  • Roedd yn ysbrydoliaeth i'r dyfodol, ac wrth wylio'r tân gwyllt yn cyfod, roedd Gareth a Carys yn gwybod eu bod yn hanu rhan o stori llawer mwy, mynyddoedd wedi'u gwisgo mewn serch, nawr yr un hyd â chylch daear.

It was an inspiration for the future, and as they watched the fireworks rise, Gareth and Carys knew they were part of a much larger story, mountains clad in love, now aligned with the earth's circle.

  • Roedd disodli yr addo ag amp, gan gwmpeisio hyd gyda⸺ mwy di-teler anhechion⸺, wirffur jeudi meledigiadau, daradau o ddiweddari o wionyf, adrodd mewn cariad.

They replaced the promise and completion with—a more unconditioned masterpiece—truly forming golden thoughts, gifts of the present, expressed in love.

  • Roedd yr un, darllenol a tharged, o ffyrdd y ceiswyr, iddi gyfarth weddi drodd molia, o un traws sieithfr ofnadwy o ddyfodiad, o ams, ni, &c., amws, amws rwgnia i lawr, sef a'i garchar yn dychwelyd i ffrith na research.

The same discerning and targeted ways of the seekers, she barked prayers turned praise, of a terrible emergence, of time, us, &c., groaning downwards, with his prison returning to boot nor research.
