  • Na vysočinské květinové farmě vládl klidný podzimní den.

On the Vysočina flower farm, it was a calm autumn day.

The sun was shining, but the chill could already be felt in the gentle breeze.

The leaves on the trees played with colors, and the fields were dotted with pumpkins in various shades of orange.

  • Jan kráčel po farmě s jasným cílem.

Jan walked across the farm with a clear goal.

  • Musel najít tu nejkrásnější dýni na svůj zápraž.

He had to find the most beautiful pumpkin for his porch.

  • Ale hlavně chtěl udělat dojem na Milenu.

But mostly, he wanted to impress Milena.

  • Milena, usměvavá a vřelá, pracovala na farmě.

Milena, smiling and warm, worked on the farm.

  • Zrovna sbírala květiny do košíku.

She was just gathering flowers into a basket.

Jan knew that the chosen pumpkin could be the perfect way to show her that he was thinking of her.

He walked among the pumpkin patches, examining each one carefully until he found the one that he deemed the best in his eyes.

It was round, deep orange, and seemed ideal.

  • Jan se radoval.

    Jan was delighted.

He spun around on the spot, but he didn't realize that the farmer's scarecrow was standing behind him.

  • Narazil do něj loktem, a než stihl strašák zkontrolovat, upadl na zem.

He bumped into it with his elbow, and before he could check on the scarecrow, it fell to the ground.

  • Jan byl překvapený.

    Jan was surprised.

The scarecrow fell apart and caused the nearest pumpkins to slide down the hill like an orange avalanche.

  • Jan zadržel dech.

    Jan held his breath.

Milena saw it all, but instead of getting angry, she laughed.

  • "Co teď?"

    "What now?"

  • zakřičela směrem k Janovi s veselým úsměvem.

she shouted towards Jan with a cheerful smile.

  • Jan věděl, že musí strašáka spravit, než přijde někdo další.

Jan knew he needed to fix the scarecrow before someone else came along.

  • Jan se pustil do práce.

    Jan got to work.

He gathered straw, straightened the shirt, and tried to set the scarecrow back on its feet by himself.

  • Milena se přidala, pomáhala ze všech sil.

Milena joined in, helping with all her might.

  • Nakonec, po několika pokusech a hodně smíchu, strašák opět stál pevně na svém místě.

Finally, after several attempts and a lot of laughter, the scarecrow was standing firmly in its place again.

With the pumpkins that they managed to stop, Milena helped.

They both laughed as they gathered them back into a pile.

When everything was done, Jan and Milena sat on the edge of the field.

  • "Děkuju ti, Mileno," řekl Jan s úsměvem.

"Thank you, Milena," said Jan with a smile.

"Maybe the perfect pumpkin isn't as important as its story."

Milena looked at him and replied, "I like it when things aren't perfect.

  • Jako tento den."

    Like this day."

After spending time together, Jan understood that Milena liked him for who he truly was, not for who he tried to be.

He learned that authenticity is more than any grand gesture.

It was the end of a beautiful autumn day on the Vysočina farm, where Jan found not just a beautiful pumpkin, but also a new friendship.
