  • V podzemním bunkru bylo klidné ticho.

In the underground bunker, there was a peaceful silence.

  • Jen vítr venku občas zahučel.

Only the wind occasionally howled outside.

  • Jiri stál u dřevěného stolu, na kterém byly rozloženy mapy a seznamy.

Jiri stood by the wooden table on which maps and lists lay spread out.

  • Svítilo jen slabé světlo žárovky, které vrhalo stíny na betonové stěny.

Only a dim light from a bulb illuminated, casting shadows on the concrete walls.

  • Jiri si stiskl rty, zamyšlený nad nadcházejícím bouřlivým počasím.

Jiri pressed his lips together, pondering over the upcoming stormy weather.

  • „Myslím, že to trochu přeháníš, Jiri,“ řekl Vojtech, pohodlně opřený o zábradlí v rohu místnosti.

"I think you're overdoing it a bit, Jiri," said Vojtech, comfortably leaning against the railing in the corner of the room.

  • „Bouře už tu byly dřív a svět stále stojí.

"Storms have been here before, and the world still stands."

  • “Jiri vzdychl.

    Jiri sighed.

  • „Nechci nic riskovat.

"I don't want to risk anything.

  • Musíme se připravit.

    We need to be prepared.

  • Lidé nám věří.

    People trust us."

  • “Katerina, stojící mezi oběma muži, přikývla.

Katerina, standing between both men, nodded.

  • „Vojtechu, Jiri má pravdu.

    "Vojtech, Jiri is right.

  • Nemůžeme podcenit, co může přijít.

We can't underestimate what might come."

  • “Vojtech se zamračil, ale neřekl nic.

    Vojtech frowned but said nothing.

  • Jiri pokračoval v kontrole zásob.

    Jiri continued checking supplies.

  • Konzervované jídlo, voda, přikrývky – vše bylo seřazeno na policích.

Canned food, water, blankets—everything was arranged on the shelves.

  • Ale stále mu něco chybělo: jistota, že vše dopadne dobře.

But something was still missing: the certainty that everything would turn out well.

  • „Potřebujeme spolupracovat,“ pokračovala Katerina.

"We need to cooperate," Katerina continued.

  • „Je důležité být připravený.

    "It's important to be prepared."

  • “Odpoledne, zatímco se zvenčí ozvaly první kapky deště, Vojtech pomohl Jirimu přinést další zásoby.

In the afternoon, as the first drops of rain fell outside, Vojtech helped Jiri bring in more supplies.

  • Pomalu začínal chápat, že opatrnost má své místo.

He slowly began to understand that caution has its place.

  • „Víš, Jiri,“ přiznal Vojtech, zatímco skládal konzervy.

"You know, Jiri," Vojtech admitted while stacking cans.

  • „Možná to máš promyšlené lépe, než jsem si myslel.

"Maybe you've thought this through better than I imagined."

  • “Jiri se usmál, přesto neklidně.

    Jiri smiled, though still uneasy.

  • „Uvidíme, až přijde moment pravdy.

"We'll see when the moment of truth comes."

  • “S příchodem večera se nebe zatáhlo a vítr zesílil.

By evening, the sky had clouded over and the wind intensified.

  • Bouře začala dříve, než očekávali.

The storm started sooner than they had expected.

  • Ve spěchu se všichni shromáždili v bunkru.

In a hurry, everyone gathered in the bunker.

  • Bili deštěm poslouchali hřmění.

Battling the rain, they listened to the thunder.

  • Jiri stál uprostřed, očima sledoval, jak vše drží.

Jiri stood in the middle, his eyes watching everything hold together.

  • Skrz hrom a hvízdání větru se teď vše zdálo klidnější.

Through the thunder and the howling wind, everything now seemed calmer.

  • Katerina pohladila Jiriho po rameni.

Katerina patted Jiri on the shoulder.

  • „Dobře, že jsme se připravili.

    "It's good that we prepared."

  • “Bouře nakonec bez větších problému přešla.

The storm eventually passed without major issues.

  • Svit naděje rozzářil Jiriho tvář.

A ray of hope brightened Jiri's face.

  • Jeho přípravy byly účinné.

    His preparations had been effective.

  • Vojtech se na něj usmál a poprvé bez náznaku ironie řekl: „Dobrá práce, Jiri.

Vojtech smiled at him and, for the first time without a hint of irony, said, "Good job, Jiri."

  • “Jiri pocítil něco, co dlouho hledal – sebevědomí.

Jiri felt something he had long sought—confidence.

  • Uvědomil si, že někdy je lepší být opatrný.

He realized that sometimes it is better to be cautious.

  • Všichni vyšli z bunkru do svěžího povětří podzimního rána.

They all emerged from the bunker into the fresh air of the autumn morning.

  • Společně v klidu ocenili jednoduchost a sílu přípravy.

Together, they quietly appreciated the simplicity and strength of preparation.

  • V ten moment věděli, že obstáli nejen v bouři na povrchu, ale i v té v jejich srdcích.

At that moment, they knew they had withstood not only the storm on the surface but also the one in their hearts.
