The sun shines over the city like a golden disk.

Jana, zvědavá turistka z Brna, přijela obdivovat architekturu Prahy.

Jana, a curious tourist from Brno, came to admire the architecture of Praha.

Byla fascinovaná gotickými věžičkami a krásnými vitrážemi Chrámu svatého Víta.

She was fascinated by the Gothic spires and beautiful stained glass windows of Chrám svatého Víta.

Těšila se na průvodce, který jí měl ukázat historické skvosty kostela.

She was looking forward to the guide who was supposed to show her the historical treasures of the church.

Spolu s ní tam byli Petr a Ludmila, další turisté, kterých si Jana všimla.

With her were Petr and Ludmila, other tourists whom Jana noticed.

Všichni sledovali průvodce, který vysvětloval historii a architekturu chrámu.

Everyone followed the guide who explained the history and architecture of the cathedral.

Jana byla okouzlena, ale toužila si prohlédnout nádherný křišťálový lustr visící vysoko nad nimi.

Jana was enchanted, but she longed to see the magnificent crystal chandelier hanging high above them.

Chtěla vidět detaily.

She wanted to see the details.

Jana pomalu přistoupila blíž.

Jana slowly moved closer.

Chtěla si ho vyfotit z jiného úhlu.

She wanted to photograph it from a different angle.

Ale v tom okamžiku zakopla o malý kámen.

But at that moment, she tripped over a small stone.

Její ruka se nešikovně opřela o provázek, na kterém visel lustr.

Her hand clumsily leaned on the rope on which the chandelier was hanging.

Ozval se zvuk praskání a lustr se rozhoupal.

There was a cracking sound, and the chandelier started to sway.

Pak se cosi uvolnilo.

Then something came loose.

Jana sledovala, jak se lustr pomalu sesunul dolů a rozbil se na tisíce kousků.

Jana watched as the chandelier slowly descended and shattered into thousands of pieces.

Lidé kolem ztuhli v šoku.

People around froze in shock.

Ona sama byla ohromená.

She herself was astonished.

Její sen o nádherném výletu se rozplynul v okamžiku.

Her dream of a beautiful trip shattered in an instant.

Ale věděla, co musí udělat.

But she knew what she had to do.

Byla vždy upřímná duše.

She was always an honest soul.

Pomalu se postavila a šla k průvodci.

She slowly stood up and went to the guide.

"Omlouvám se," začala tiše, "rozbila jsem to.

"I'm sorry," she began quietly, "I broke it.

Byla to nehoda."

It was an accident."

Petr a Ludmila stáli opodál a sledovali, jak se Jana snaží vysvětlit situaci.

Petr and Ludmila stood nearby, watching as Jana tried to explain the situation.

Turisté kolem nastražili uši.

Tourists around perked up their ears.

Jana cítila tíhu pohledů, ale pevně čelila svému činu.

Jana felt the weight of their gazes but faced her actions firmly.

Průvodce, starší muž s jemným úsměvem, kroutil hlavou, ale ne zlostně.

The guide, an elderly man with a gentle smile, shook his head but not angrily.

"Vy jste ji rozbila?"

"You broke it?"

zeptal se s mírnou nedůvěrou.

Jana přikývla.

Jana nodded.

"To chce odvahu přiznat chybu," řekl průvodce.

"It takes courage to admit a mistake," the guide said.

"To je vzácné."

"That's rare."

Vzdychl, pak dodal: "Jsem rád, že jsi byla upřímná.

He sighed, then added, "I am glad you were honest.

Takové nehody se mohou stát."

Such accidents can happen."

Lidé kolem začali znovu mluvit o kráse chrámu.

People around started talking again about the beauty of the cathedral.

Petr a Ludmila přišli k Janě a vyjádřili svou účast.

Petr and Ludmila came to Jana and expressed their support.

Jana si uvědomila, že její dovolená není ztracená.

Jana realized that her vacation was not lost.

Naučila se cennou lekci.

She had learned a valuable lesson.

Když procházela zbytek prohlídky, srdce jí bilo klidněji.
