V jednom z koutů muzea stojí Jarek, nadšený amatérský paleontolog, s nadějí ve tváři.

In one corner of the museum stands Jarek, an enthusiastic amateur paleontologist, with hope on his face.

Vedle něj Lenka, jeho skeptická kamarádka, která se trochu škodolibě usmívá.

Beside him is Lenka, his skeptical friend, who is smirking somewhat mischievously.

"Dnes je ten den, Lenko," říká Jarek.

"Today is the day, Lenko," says Jarek.

"Dnes najdeme to záhadné dinosaurí vejce."

"Today we will find that mysterious dinosaur egg."

"Pořád si myslíš, že existuje?" odpovídá Lenka s pochybností.

"You still think it exists?" replies Lenka doubtfully.

"To je jen vtip, co si personál dělá navzájem."

"It's just a joke that the staff play on each other."

Jarek se nenechává odradit.

Jarek is not discouraged.

Požádal o pomoc starého, trochu podivínského údržbáře muzea, kterého potkal poblíž výstavy zkamenělin.

He asked for help from an old, slightly eccentric museum maintenance man, whom he met near the fossil exhibition.

Údržbář promluvil tajemně: "Půjdete dozadu, za uzavřené dveře.

The maintenance man spoke mysteriously: "Go to the back, behind the closed doors.

Ale pozor na strážné!"

But beware of the guards!"

Lenka pokrčí rameny.

Lenka shrugs.

"Dobře, pojďme na to.

"Fine, let's do it.

Aspoň když nic nenajdeme, dám ti za pravdu a můžeme se tomu zasmát."

At least if we find nothing, I'll admit you were right, and we can laugh about it."

Oba se proplíží kolem strážných, míjí staré výstavy a tajemné sochy.

The two sneak past the guards, passing old exhibitions and mysterious statues.

Jarek drží mapku, kterou si tajně pořídil od údržbáře.

Jarek holds a map that he secretly obtained from the maintenance man.

Chodby jsou tiché, ozvěna jejich kroků se odráží od kamenných stěn.

The hallways are silent, and the echo of their steps bounces off the stone walls.

Vzduch je chladný a voní po starožitnostech.

The air is cool and smells of antiques.

Po chvíli dojdou k malé chodbě.

After a while, they reach a small corridor.

Vypadá slibně.

It looks promising.

Jarek natáhne ruku ke dveřím a pomaličku je otevře.

Jarek reaches out to the door and slowly opens it.

Co najdou, je starý sklad. Plný rozbitých figurín a zaprášených částí starých expozic.

What they find is an old storeroom, full of broken mannequins and dusty parts of old exhibits.

"Tohle je naše dinosaurí vejce?" směje se Lenka, když ukazuje na falešné vejce, které je zjevně vtipným artefaktem.

"Is this our dinosaur egg?" Lenka laughs, pointing at a fake egg, which is clearly a humorous artifact.

V rohu místnosti leží, jako připomínka, že dobrý žert může trvat pořádně dlouho.

In the corner of the room, it lies as a reminder that a good joke can last a very long time.

Jarek se hlasitě zasměje.

Jarek laughs loudly.

"No, aspoň jsme to zkusili.

"Well, at least we tried.

A koho by napadlo, že tohle zažijeme?"

And who would have thought we would experience this?"

Lenka přikývne.

Lenka nods.

"Bylo to dobrodružství, že?

"It was an adventure, wasn't it?

V realitě i ve fantazii."

Both in reality and imagination."

Odcházejí ze skladu, smíření s tím, že někdy je nejdůležitější cesta, ne cíl.

They leave the storeroom, reconciled with the fact that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.

Jarek se naučí brát věci s humorem, a Lenka si uvědomí, že občas není na škodu nechat se odvést do světa fantazie a dobrodružství.

Společně se vracejí do davu turistů, s úsměvy na tvářích a novým společným zážitkem v srdcích.
