Malé plameny v krbu marně bojovaly s ledovými závany.

The small flames in the fireplace were struggling in vain against the icy drafts.

Karel ležel na pohovce, ztěžka dýchal a jeho tvář byla bledá.

Karel lay on the couch, breathing heavily, his face pale.

Miroslav seděl u okna a opatrně se díval ven.

Miroslav sat by the window, carefully looking out.

"Sněží pořád více," řekl.

"It's snowing more and more," he said.

"My tady uvázneme na dlouho."

"We're going to be stuck here for a long time."

Jolana přemýšlela, co dělat.

Jolana was thinking about what to do.

Musela se postarat o Karla.

She had to take care of Karel.

"Potřebujeme pomoc," řekla rozhodně.

"We need help," she said decisively.

"Musíme najít způsob, jak někoho kontaktovat."

"We must find a way to contact someone."

Prohledala všechny skříně a zásuvky v chatě.

She searched all the cabinets and drawers in the cabin.

Po chvíli našla starý vysílač, skrytý pod hromadou starých dek.

After a while, she found an old transmitter hidden under a pile of old blankets.

Vypadalo to jako relikvie z minulosti, ale teď to byla jejich jediná naděje.

It looked like a relic from the past, but now it was their only hope.

"Kareli, vydrž," snažila se ho povzbudit.

"Kareli, hold on," she tried to encourage him.

"Najdu způsob, jak zavolat pomoc."

"I'll find a way to call for help."

Miroslav přiskočil k Jolaně.

Miroslav jumped to Jolana's side.

"Ukaž mi, jak pomoci," řekl s odhodláním, ale v očích měl strach.

"Show me how I can help," he said with determination, though there was fear in his eyes.

Jolana rychle vysvětlila Miroslavovi, jak vysílač funguje.

Jolana quickly explained to Miroslav how the transmitter worked.

Společně se snažili naladit správnou frekvenci.

Together, they tried to tune in to the right frequency.

Tady chata na horách.

This is a mountain cabin.

We have a medical emergency.

Prosíme o pomoc," hlásila Jolana do mikrofonu s nadějí v hlase.

Please help us," Jolana reported into the microphone with hope in her voice.

Odpověď přišla o pár minut později.

The response came a few minutes later.

"Rozumíme.

"Understood.

Dorazíme k vám co nejdříve."

We will get to you as soon as possible."

Jolana uslyšela ta slova jako zázrak.

Jolana heard those words like a miracle.

Otočila se ke Karelovi, který se trochu usmíval.

She turned to Karel, who was smiling slightly.

"Vydrž ještě chvíli, pomoc je na cestě."

"Hold on a little longer, help is on the way."

Venku sníh stále padal, ale uvnitř chaty bylo teď o něco tepleji.

Outside, the snow still fell, but inside the cabin, it was a little warmer now.

Chvilku poté se zaslechly zvuky přibližujícího se rozhrkaného auta.

Moments later, they heard the sounds of an approaching rickety vehicle.

Konečně dorazili záchranáři.

Rychle naložili Karla do vozu a začali mu poskytovat potřebnou péči.

Když odcházeli z chaty a sněhová bouře se začala utišovat, Jolana se otočila zpět a usmála se.

As they left the cabin and the snowstorm began to calm down, Jolana turned back and smiled.

Dnes se naučila, že i v největší pustině je možná najít cestu – jak ven, tak ke svému vlastnímu nitru.

Today she learned that even in the vast wilderness, it's possible to find a way – both out and into her own heart.
