V pražské Staroměstské náměstí byla sobota odpoledne.

Na náměstí se to hemžilo lidmi slavícími Halloween.

Voněly pečené kaštany a ze stánků zněly smíchy dětí, ozývaly se písně a všude se linul vůně dýní.

The aroma of roasted chestnuts filled the air, along with the laughter of children from the stalls; songs were heard, and the scent of pumpkins wafted everywhere.

Všude se třpytily svíčky a lampiony, jejichž světla blýskaly na dlažebních kostkách.

Candles and lanterns twinkled all around, their lights shimmering on the cobblestones.

Jana stála u jednoho z malých stánků, dívala se na pyré z dýní a usmívala se na svého bratra Petra.

Jana stood by one of the small stalls, looking at pumpkin puree and smiling at her brother Petr.

Po dlouhém týdnu v nemocnici si zasloužila den volna.

After a long week at the hospital, she deserved a day off.

Dnes chtěla zapomenout na stres a věnovat se svému bratrovi, který přijel až z Ostravy.

Today she wanted to forget about stress and focus on her brother, who had come all the way from Ostrava.

„Podíváme se na ty strašidelné kostýmy?“ Petr se zeptal Jana, přičemž máchal rukama na náměstí plném kostýmů a masek.

“Shall we check out those spooky costumes?” Petr asked Jana, gesturing towards the square full of costumes and masks.

Byl plný nadšení a zvědavosti.

He was full of excitement and curiosity.

Jana se zasmála.

Jana laughed.

„Jasně, pojďme," odpověděla a společně se vrhli do davu.

“Sure, let's go,” she replied, and together they plunged into the crowd.

Vzduch poslouchal jejich smích, když procházeli náměstím plným rozmanitostí.

The air caught their laughter as they walked through the square full of diversity.

Pak něco upoutalo Janinu pozornost.

Then something caught Jana's attention.

Na kraji davu seděla starší žena, zjevně obtěžkaná nějakým neviditelným smutkem.

On the edge of the crowd sat an older woman, seemingly burdened by some invisible sadness.

Měla zvláštní auru, která upoutala její pozornost.

She had a peculiar aura that captured her attention.

Na chvíli uvažovala, zda se do toho vmísit, ale pak se rozhodla uvést myšlenku stranou.

For a moment, she wondered if she should get involved but decided to set the thought aside.

Dnes byl den oddychu.

Today was a day of relaxation.

Jana si všimla, jak se znenadání zachvěla.

Jana noticed how she suddenly shivered.

Žena, která seděla na lavičce, se náhle zhroutila.

The woman sitting on the bench suddenly collapsed.

Jana okamžitě zareagovala.

Jana reacted immediately.

Její instinkty se probudily a běžela k ní, srdce jí bilo rychleji.

Her instincts kicked in, and she ran to her, her heart beating faster.

„Pomozte mi!“ vykřikla a klekla si k Veronice, aniž by přemýšlela.

“Help me!” she shouted, kneeling by Veronika without thinking.

Petr stál neklidně stranou, netuše, co dělat.

Petr stood anxiously aside, unsure of what to do.

„Jen zavolejte záchranku, Petře!“ přikázala.

“Just call an ambulance, Petře!” she commanded.

Zatímco se Petr snažil volat o pomoc, Jana nasadila své dovednosti.

As Petr tried to call for help, Jana put her skills to use.

Bez ohledu na pocit, že si zasloužila osobní pauzu, nemohla ignorovat potřebu pomoci.

Despite the feeling that she deserved a personal break, she couldn't ignore the need to help.

Většina kolemjdoucích zastavila, sledovala tu scénu, jak Jana s klidem a soustředěním provádí CPR.

Most passersby stopped, watching the scene as Jana calmly and focusedly performed CPR.

Čas se zdál stát.

Time seemed to stand still.

Konečně, po nekonečných okamžicích, Veronika poddala tělu mírný závan života.

Finally, after what seemed like eternal moments, Veronika showed faint signs of life.

Když dorazila záchranka, Jana si s úlevou povzdechla.

When the ambulance arrived, Jana sighed with relief.

„Vykonali jste skvělou práci,“ řekl jeden z paramediků, když si Veroniku převzali.

“You did a great job,” said one of the paramedics as they took over Veronika.

Lidé okolo začali tleskat.

The people around started clapping.

Jana se jemně usmála, přestože byla unavená, cítila uvnitř sebe nový pocit spokojení.

Jak dav začal řídnout, Petr k ní přistoupil a řekl: „Jsi úžasná, sestro.

Uvědomila si, že i když miluje svou práci, musí se naučit pečovat také o sebe.

She realized that, although she loves her job, she must learn to take care of herself too.

Odhodlaně rozhodla, že stejně jako pomáhá druhým, musí i sama najít svůj čas na odpočinek a znovuobnovení sil.

Determinedly, she decided that just as she helps others, she must also find her own time for rest and rejuvenation.

Navzdory událostem byla tato chladná podzimní oslava Halloweenu více než jen přehlídka masek a dýní.

Despite the events, this chilly autumn Halloween celebration was more than just a parade of masks and pumpkins.

Byla to připomínka, že skutečný hrdina nezůstává neviditelný a že život je o nalezení rovnováhy.

It was a reminder that a true hero doesn't remain invisible and that life is about finding balance.

Jana a Petr zase zamířili do davu, s tím, že tentokrát si jednoduše užijí zbytek dne.

Jana and Petr headed back into the crowd, deciding to simply enjoy the rest of the day this time.
