Lucie přišla první.

Lucie was the first to arrive.

Její úsměv byl jako vždy nakažlivý.

Her smile was, as always, infectious.

"Tome, dnes je den jen pro nás," řekla, když se blížila.

"Thomas, today is a day just for us," she said as she approached.

Tohle léto strávili společně spoustu času, ale dnešek byl výjimečný.

They had spent a lot of time together this summer, but today was special.

Za chvíli dorazil i Jiří.

Soon after, Jiří arrived.

"Připraven na velký den?"

"Ready for the big day?"

Pak se společně vydali do hloubky náměstí, míjeli turisty a jejich kamery.

Then together, they ventured deeper into the square, passing tourists and their cameras.

Zvuky hudby, smíchu a rozhovorů naplňovaly vzduch.

The sounds of music, laughter, and conversations filled the air.

Během odpoledne navštívili slavné kavárny, ochutnali trdelník a smáli se při pohledu na bublifuky a pouliční umělce.

During the afternoon, they visited famous cafes, tasted trdelník, and laughed at the bubble blowers and street performers.

Na chvíli se jim podařilo zapomenout na odjezd, který se blížil.

For a while, they managed to forget about the departure that was approaching.

Pozdě odpoledne se zastavili u sochy Jana Husa.

Late in the afternoon, they stopped at the statue of Jan Hus.

Tomas se díval na slunce, které klidně klesalo na obzoru.

Thomas watched the sun calmly setting on the horizon.

"Moc mi to tu bude chybět," řekl tiše, spíše pro sebe než pro ostatní.

"I'll miss this place a lot," he murmured, more to himself than to the others.

Lucie se přiblížila.

Lucie moved closer.

"Nemusíme to brát jako rozloučení.

"We don't have to see it as goodbye.

Je to jen dočasné, Tome," podotkla povzbudivě.

It's just temporary, Thomas," she noted encouragingly.

Jiří, vždy se smyslem pro humor, dodal: "Já vím, že jsi statečný.

Jiří, always with a sense of humor, added, "I know you're brave.

Ale když budeš potřebovat, zavolej.

But if you need to, call.

Rodina je přece všude, nezapomeň."

Family is everywhere, don't forget."

Když se stíny začaly prodlužovat, Tomas stanul před nimi a promluvil nahlas.

As the shadows began to lengthen, Thomas stood before them and spoke loudly.

"Jsem vděčný za vás oba.

"I'm grateful to both of you.

Bez vás bych to nezvládl," řekl s dojetím.

I couldn't have managed without you," he said emotionally.

"Užijme si tento večer, ale slibuji, že se vrátím.

"Let's enjoy this evening, but I promise I'll return.

Udržujme kontakt."

Lucie se nervózně pousmála a pak dodala: "Tome, chtěla jsem ti něco říct... vždycky jsem k tobě cítila víc než přátelství."

Lucie smiled nervously and then added, "Thomas, I've always felt more than just friendship towards you."

Tomas byl na okamžik překvapen.

Thomas was momentarily surprised.

Pak ale pohlédl do Luciiných očí a řekl: "Lucie, tvé přátelství je pro mě velmi důležité.

But then he looked into Lucie's eyes and said, "Lucie, your friendship is very important to me.

Neboj se, po návratu si o tom promluvíme."

Slunce zmizelo za obzorem a noční světla Staroměstského náměstí se rozsvítila.

The sun disappeared beyond the horizon, and the night lights of Staroměstské náměstí lit up.

Tomas si uvědomil, že jeho obavy ze zahraničí jsou menší než láska přátel, kterou tady má.

Thomas realized that his worries about going abroad were smaller than the love of the friends he had here.

Konec dne je dojal všechny, ale byl plný naděje.

The end of the day moved everyone, but it was full of hope.

Tomas odcházel s jistotou, že má v srdci pevné vzpomínky a že ho čeká nová kapitola života.

Thomas left with the certainty that he had strong memories in his heart and that a new chapter of life awaited him.
