Po kamenné cestě kráčel Ladislav, v hlavě těžké myšlenky, ale s usmívajícími se očima.

Along the stone path walked Ladislav, with heavy thoughts in his head but a smile in his eyes.

Vedle něj šla Tereza, jeho sestra, která se snažila držet si pohromadě svou malou rodinu.

Beside him was Tereza, his sister, who was trying to keep her small family together.

Minulý týden byl neuvěřitelně těžký.

The past week had been incredibly difficult.

Matka jim chyběla.

They missed their mother.

Často s nimi chodila tudy, zastavila se u květin a vyprávěla o jejich vůni a historii.

She often walked with them here, stopped by the flowers, and spoke about their scent and history.

Teď byla pryč a oba sourozenci se ocitli v neklidné vodě života.

„Jak se má Matouš?“ zeptal se Ladislav s obavami, když myslel na svého synovce.

"How is Matouš?" Ladislav asked with concern, thinking of his nephew.

„Roste rychle, ale chybí mu babička,“ odpověděla Tereza a povzdechla si.

"He's growing fast, but he misses grandma," Tereza replied with a sigh.

„Je to těžké.“

"It's hard."

Ladislav se sám ušklíbl.

Ladislav smirked to himself.

„I já mám své problémy,“ pomyslel si.

"I have my own problems," he thought.

Už několik týdnů byl bez práce.

He had been out of work for several weeks.

Každý den se díval na inzeráty a rozesílal životopisy.

Every day, he looked at ads and sent out resumes.

Zatím bez úspěchu.

So far, without success.

Neřekl to Tereze.

He hadn't told Tereza.

Nechtěl ji zatěžovat.

He didn't want to burden her.

„Asi bych měla přemýšlet o našem životě tady,“ pokračovala Tereza s pohledem na domy kolem.

"Maybe I should think about our life here," Tereza continued, looking at the houses around.

„Možná bychom se měli přestěhovat někam ven.“

"Perhaps we should move somewhere outside."

Ladislav se zastavil a podíval se na sestru.

Ladislav stopped and looked at his sister.

„Proč by ses stěhovala?“

"Why would you move?"

Tereza poprvé zakoulela očima.

Tereza rolled her eyes for the first time.

„Vím, že tu máme domov, ale je toho tolik, co se musí zařídit.

"I know we have a home here, but there's so much that needs arranging.

Praha je drahá.

Praha is expensive.

Chci, aby byl Matouš v bezpečí a šťastný.“

I want Matouš to be safe and happy."

Ladislav se opřel o zábradlí vedle cesty.

Ladislav leaned against the railing beside the path.

Kdyby ji teď mohl podpořit.

If only he could support her now.

Kdyby mohl své problémy odložit a soustředit se na ni.

If only he could set aside his problems and focus on her.

Ale tajemství na něj doléhalo.

But the secret weighed heavily on him.

„Terezo,“ začal Ladislav pomalu.

"Terezo," Ladislav began slowly.

Musel to říct.

He had to say it.

„Ztratil jsem práci.

"I've lost my job.

Hledám jinou, ale...“

I'm looking for another, but..."

Náhle, uprostřed kvetoucích stromů a voňavých záhonů, Tereza objala bratra.

Suddenly, amidst the blooming trees and fragrant flower beds, Tereza hugged her brother.

„Proč jsi mi to neřekl?“ její hlas byl něžný, bez výčitek.

"Why didn't you tell me?" her voice was gentle, without reproach.

„Měl jsem strach tě přetížit.

"I was afraid of overburdening you.

A teď vím, že to byla chyba,“ přiznal Ladislav.

And now I know that was a mistake," Ladislav admitted.

„Ale jsme přece rodina.

"But we are family.

Zvládneme to společně.“

We'll manage it together."

Přikývla a podívala se na slunce prosvětlující park.

She nodded and looked at the sun shining through the park.

„Zůstaneme tady.

"We will stay here.

Maminka by chtěla, abychom byli spolu a bojovali.“

Maminka would want us to be together and fight."

Ladislav ucítil, jak z něj padá tíha.

Ladislav felt the weight lift from him.

„Máš pravdu.

"You're right.

Najdu novou cestu.

I will find a new path.

Inspiraci si vezmu od mamy.“

I'll take inspiration from mama."

Začínal v něm růst klid a odhodlání.

Calm and determination began to grow in him.

Během procházky parkem, který jejich matka měla tak ráda, se oba sourozenci znovu spojili.

During the walk through the park that their mother loved so much, the siblings reconnected.

Dali si slib, že se navzájem podpoří.
