Laia va negar amb el cap, però els seus ulls demostraven que part d'ella volia saber més.

Laia shook her head, but her eyes showed that part of her wanted to know more.

"Ens han dit que no ens separem," va recordar Laia, intentant no perdre de vista el grup.

"They've told us not to separate," Laia remembered, trying not to lose sight of the group.

Però Pau ja havia pres la seva decisió.

But Pau had already made his decision.

Amb una mirada còmplice a Laia, va començar a caminar cap al passadís menys transitat del monestir.

"Mira això, Laia! És increïble!" va exclamar Pau mentre agafava un llibre vell de la prestatgeria, les pàgines amarades de saviesa antiga.

"Look at this, Laia! It's incredible!" exclaimed Pau as he picked up an old book from the shelf, the pages drenched in ancient wisdom.

Laia es va acostar i va somriure.

Laia approached and smiled.

"És increïble, Pau, però hem de tornar abans que ens trobin!" va advertir.

"It's incredible, Pau, but we have to return before they find us!" she warned.

Amb el cor palpitant de l'emoció i els ulls plens d'esplendor per la descoberta, Pau va tancar el llibre amb cura i el va tornar al seu lloc.

With hearts pounding from excitement and their eyes filled with splendor from the discovery, Pau carefully closed the book and returned it to its place.

Van sortir de la sala amb la mateixa cura amb què havien entrat i van fer marxa enrere pels passadissos, trobant el grup just a temps per unir-se a la resta dels alumnes.

They exited the room with the same care with which they had entered and retraced their steps through the corridors, finding the group just in time to join the rest of the students.

Mentre es barrejaven amb els companys, Pau va mirar Laia i va somriure.

As they mingled with their classmates, Pau looked at Laia and smiled.

"Gràcies per venir amb mi, Laia. No ho oblidaré mai."

"Thanks for coming with me, Laia. I will never forget it."

Laia li va tornar el somriure, amb un nou brillantor atrevit als ulls.

Laia returned the smile, with a new daring gleam in her eyes.

"No diré res... però la pròxima vegada, potser jo prendré la iniciativa," va dir ella, divertint-se.

"I won't say anything... but next time, maybe I'll take the lead," she said, amused.

El so de les campanes del monestir va envair l'aire mentre tornaven a l'entrada.
