Les vacances de Nadal els havien portat a la masia del vell avi de Pere, un lloc encantador ple d'història.

The Christmas holidays had brought them to the farmhouse of Pere's old grandfather, a charming place full of history.

"La masia és vella, però preciosa," comentava Gemma amb ulls brillants.

"The farmhouse is old, but beautiful," Gemma commented with bright eyes.

"Sempre he sentit que aquests llocs amaguen secrets.

"I've always felt that these places hide secrets."

"Núria posava els ulls en blanc.

Núria rolled her eyes.

"Els únics secrets aquí són els ratolins.

"The only secrets here are the mice."

"Un matí, mentre exploraven les habitacions plenes de pols de la masia, Pere va trobar un vell diari amagat sota una taula.

One morning, while they were exploring the dusty rooms of the farmhouse, Pere found an old diary hidden under a table.

Les pàgines eren grogues i fragils.

The pages were yellow and fragile.

"Mireu això!

"Look at this!"

" va exclamar.

"Gemma va somriure emocionada.

"Núria, però, era escèptica.

Núria, however, was skeptical.

"Hem de ser pràctics.

"We must be practical.

Aquestes coses solen ser contes.

These things are usually just tales."

"Pere, amb el diari a la mà, va insistir.

Pere, with the diary in hand, insisted.

"Hi ha pistes clares aquí.

"There are clear clues here.

Hem de trobar el tresor!

We have to find the treasure!"

"Gemma va posar la mà a l'espatlla de Pere.

Gemma put her hand on Pere's shoulder.

"Això és un tresor en si mateix.

"That is a treasure in itself."

"Núria somreia.

Núria smiled.

"Sempre he dit que les històries valen més que l'or.

"I've always said that stories are worth more than gold."

"Van passar la resta del Nadal llegint aquells vells documents, redescobrint el passat familiar.

They spent the rest of Christmas reading those old documents, rediscovering the family’s past.

Pere va aprendre que els veritables tresors de vegades no són materials.
