عمر، الذي كان يصغرهم كثيرًا، كان يسترق النظر خلفه بين حين وآخر، مراقبًا الظلال المتحركة بحذر.

Omar, who was much younger, would glance behind him now and then, cautiously watching the moving shadows.

"علينا أن نجد مكانًا آمنًا قبل حلول الظلام"، قال سامي بحزم، وعيناه مسلطتان على الأفق الرمادي.

"We have to find a safe place before nightfall," Sami said firmly, his eyes fixed on the gray horizon.

كانت المنطقة التي يتجهون إليها مليئة بالمخاطر، لكن الجوع كان يدفعهم للمجازفة.

The area they were heading towards was filled with dangers, but hunger was pushing them to take risks.

عند وصولهم إلى السوق المهجور، واجهتهم مجموعة أخرى من الناجين، كانوا يبحثون عن المؤن أيضًا.

When they reached the abandoned market, they encountered another group of survivors also searching for supplies.

ارتفعت الصيحات، وكل مجموعة حاولت الدفاع عن نفسها.

Shouts rose, and each group tried to defend itself.

لكن سامي أشار إلى ليلى وعمر بالهدوء.

تنفس سامي الصعداء، والتفت إلى شقيقيه، مُدركًا: "لم أكن لأفعل ذلك بدونكما.
